Although the human body has difficulty assimilating energy from the calories in alcohol, the carbohydrate-laden drinks in which its often served and the nutritionally poor choices for munchies many make while imbibing, make drinking and looking fit an almost impossible match. Leave it to a couple of designers at a Singaporean sneaker boutique to crack the code on how to bring fitness and fermentation together, the new Limited Edt x Reebok Workout having been inspired by the Tiger Beer bottle’s aesthetic around the time of the Workout’s 1987 debut. The upper has been enhanced with a gradient that imitates the fizz of carbonation as well as a tiger-striped insole, while the shoe’s colors are a direct match to both the bottle and a special edition box that’s a first for this Workout 25th anniversary capsule. There are still two more pairs to be revealed before the global launch on February 15th, so check out Limited Edt‘s efforts and stick with Sneaker News for more.

Following the full on denim look for the Nike Air Force 1 Low we saw last year, a more trimmed back approach seems to be in order for 2012. You’ll recall the full preview we dropped on you a few months back, a few from which are starting to make their way into retailers as of now. First it was the salmon toned version, and now this Mets looking colorway is the latest to appear. Storm blue on the upper pairs with vivid orange on the swoosh, with the faded denim twiill hits mixing into the paneling to bring on the lifestyle look. Follow us after the jump to get a better feel for the sneaker, and stay tuned for their stateside arrival coming summer 2012.

Nike Sportswear has displayed an uncanny ability to turn the most technical and unflattering of shoes into perfect lifestyle shoes. Take for example the Nike MayFly – a track and field shoe that was stripped down to skin (Tyvek material, actually) only to give runners an advantage. Of course, this new Premium offering is meant more for the weekend, because it’s got a simple Black/Tan colorway constructed in suede uppers and leather insoles. The original graphic stays, but it’s got a new heart thanks to this Premium-grade transplant of materials. Check out the extra shots below and see what’s available at UK retailer End.

The Air Jordan 2012 launch, a detailed look at the Galaxy Foamposites, a color-changing Zoom Kobe – what a great week it’s been. We’ll start with Air Jordan headlines, like the official launch and media event for the Air Jordan 2012 and a first look at the Air Jordan IV ‘Knicks’. The Nike All-Star 2012 Collection was unveiled, with a closer look at the Nike signatures, the Air Flight One, and the Dunk Highs. More news from the Nike Basketball trio surfaced, like the news of a US release for the ‘Invisibility Cloak’ Kobe VII, some new LeBron 9 iD options, and some more details on some key KD IV releases. Sneaker News provided you a first detailed look at the ‘Galaxy’ Foamposite and the glow-in-the-dark soles while providing release dates and information for this extremely limited release. Single pairs from the Air Jordan History Of Flight collection began popping up for sale, reminding us how clean a simple white/red colorway can be.
Nike SB quietly released the ‘Shrimp’ Quickstrike at select stores, while more info regarding the Entourage collab stirred some debate. We were also given a teaser of the upcoming Ronnie Fieg x Asics collaboration, focusing on ‘Rose Gold’ on the GT-II. We brought you a first look at some Total Air Pillar samples in two new colorways. The Air Max 1 got a clean and simple outfit in black and reflective silver as part of the Nike USA Track & Field Pack. Sneaker News went on an editorial excursion and put a spotlight on the Nike Air Safari, which is celebrating a 25th Anniversary this year. NBA and NCAA Feet kept us entertained as well, as UNC and Georgetown debuted the Air Jordan 2012, and Superbowl Champion Victor Cruz did some victory salsa-ing in his White/Cement Air Jordan IV. Custom kicks were a hot topic toward the end of the week, with a sick ‘Galaxy’ Zoom Rookie and a Foamposite inspired by one of the Watch The Throne tracks. Keep reading to check out all this and more from a monster week in sneakers.

Our readers from the Pacific Northwest should be well familiar with the University of Oregon/University of Washington rivalry. In the footwear world the battle hasn’t historically been very close thanks to Oregon’s deep reaching Nike connects, but TCMan5190 on NT is looking to reverse that trend a bit with this pair of customs. Starting with the white/varsity red Air Jordan VI retro as his base, he brought in some gold accenting in DMP fashion and introduced a little purple to the midsole color hit. Follow us after the jump for more shots of this Huskies custom colorway and let us know if you would pick up a similar Air Jordan VI were it ever to hit retail.

Nike’s motto for 2012′s Black History Month is ‘Uplift’ – a strong message highlighted by its brevity and stoicism. The signature graphic print and distinct colors seen on these four Nike Sportswear releases was developed by Nike designers, inspired by the International African culture and drawing visual cues from Kenyan beads, African-American quilt-making, and even the Brazilian Carnivale, and the entire capsule itself is a gesture of celebration of the achievements of three significant teams – the ’96 USA Womens Basketball team, the ’02 Brazil Mens Soccer team, and the ’08 Kenyan Long-Distance Running team. The NSW Black History Month collection will be available at select Nike Sportswear retailers; however, the release of the Air Max 1 has been postponed to a future date. Keep in mind that only the Air Force 1, Blazer, and Huarache Free 2012 will be available tomorrow!

2012 marks the 23rd Anniversary for the Air Jordan IV, so a special release for one particular sector of Jordan fanatics had to be made! This Girls-only colorway of the Air Jordan IV hits stores tomorrow, featuring a tonal Voltage Cherry upper with Black accents on the lacewings and outsole. The guys certainly had their eyes glued to them when 106 & Park host Rocsi salsa-danced in them in a friendly battle against Superbowl Champ Victor Cruz, and the ladies got clear confirmation that these are in fact a must-have sneaker. Tomorrow will be a monster day of releases and the Voltage Cherry IVs are one reason why that is, so be sure to cop these at Jordan Brand retailers like Moe’s Sneaker Spot or cop a pair right now on eBay.

Earlier today we showed you a sick pair of customs sneakers done by Mache Customs – the Nike Zoom Rookie LWP ‘Galaxy’. Those were indeed on another level, but flying at the same altitude is this sick colorway of the Zoom Rookie that will hit stores tomorrow. First viewings of the ‘Dynamic Blue’ Zoom Rookie resulted in some positive remarks from our readers, and with the Zoom Rookie established as one of the best new releases put out by Nike, the Dynamic Blues will certainly be a big ticket item during tomorrow’s massive set of releases. Check out these new angles after the jump and don’t forget to cop ‘em tomorrow at select Nike Sportswear retailers or from sneakerpost on eBay.

Tomorrow marks one of the biggest sneaker release days of the year, with a handful of must-have releases hitting stores and causing indecision in the minds of sneakerheads. One of frontrunners of these releases is the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’, which features a white upper in tumbled and patent leather, an Old Royal blue detailing and Stealth Grey hints on the outsole and lace-straps. Another interesting note about these Air Jordan Retros is that Jordan Brand currently has them listed at $150, a price-point on Retros that we haven’t seen in quite some time. You can count on Moe’s Sneaker Spot on have these in stock, so be sure to check with them and at other Jordan Brand retailers, or cop a pair now on eBay.
