New Balance’s latest product line of footwear buttressed by the “Authors Collection” concept has been a major best-seller thus far. Each incredible colorway is indeed inspired by an epic novel of our time, and this 1400 model, which we showed you last week, is revealed to be taken from Joseph Heller’s Catch-22. Given the book’s military themes, this composition of olive drab tones and accents of grey and red certainly make plenty of sense on paper and in real time. Check out the extra photos of the New Balance 1400 “Catch-22″ below and look out for these at select New Balance retailers soon.

Sure, the Nike Flyknit Chukka was the most recent recipient of the flyknit and air max combination, but you can’t forget about the Nike Flyknit Air Max, which was at one point the lightest model in the history of air max wielding silhouettes. And despite how many vibrant colorways we’ve seen, the sneaker has remained fairly low key as an outlier in both categories. The latest release sees a summer-ready white base accented by hyper punch and bright magenta, two colors that play quite well together.
