It looks like LeBron isn’t the only one who will see his sneakers transform into a lifestyle look this year. The Nike Kobe 8 looks to be transitioning into this Nike Kobe 8 NSW model as well. The upper echoes that Kobe vibe with both the Swoosh placement and the remnants of the heel clip on the back, both of which are placed on a flat-footed sole to help it transition to an entirely different category. See more on the Nike Kobe 8 NSW “Mexican Blanket” colorway after the jump and keep in mind that these look like an Asian release for June at the moment.

The recently introduced Mach Force is a 2012 debut that hearkens back to late 80s basketball aesthetics. Given the overlap in its name, you might think the Nike Mach Runner is a similar kind of faux-retro, but that’s only because it’s been out of circulation for something like a decade. In fact, the Mach Runner is one of the original Nike running shoes, a 1976 release that makes a triumphant return in an OG-ish colorway combining white, Neutral Grey and Royal Blue. More good news from Nike Sportswear for the suede and mesh faithful, this Mach Runner is up for grabs at stores like Rock City Kicks.

Black uppers have produced a number of satisfying releases for the second Nike SB Team Edition lowtop. The model got its start in late 2011 with the ‘SB Chronicles’ edition, made a subtle shift for Grant Taylor’s SOTY tribute and dropped in a ‘Blackout’ makeup last summer. This time around, we get the beloved gum sole on the bottom of a black nubuck upper that’s been treated to tonal accents by way of the trusty Anthracite shade. Have a closer look after the jump, then pick yours up at SB retailers like Premier.

The second leg of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing takes place this Saturday, May 18th with the Preakness Stakes in Baltimore. If Kentucky Derby winner Orb manages to take the Preakness, we’ll be in for a big Belmont Stakes with the possibility of the first Triple Crown winner since the magical 1970s. About a decade after Secretariat, Seattle Slew and Affirmed was when New Balance really hit its stride, and here we see the 576 that released ten years after the last, dressed up in ‘Race Day’ attire. The New Balance 576 ‘The Fighter’ is depicted further below while we await ‘The Legend’ (perhaps held back until June’s big race?), and you can grab a pair now from End.
