This postseason has been quite a showcase for sick kicks thus far. Gilbert Arenas wore the Air Jordan IV ‘Lightning’, Nick Young whipped out the Metallic Red Foamposites, and Kawhi Leonard of the Spurs rotated some white/black/grey Air Jordans during the First Round. It was only a matter of time that Ray Allen would shut down the competition with a PE of his own, and did so during Game 2 of Boston’s series against the Philadelphia Sixers with the Air Jordan VIII ‘Home’ PE; although the Celtics lost the game, Ray led the Celtics with 17 points off the bench. Is this the best NBA Feet sighting of the Playoffs thus far? Check out Ray and his kicks below and let us know what you think. Photos: espn

The First Round of the 2012 NBA Playoffs is nearing its end, with two match-ups waiting for a decisive Game 7 to be determined. Kobe and the Lakers failed to close out their showdown with the Nuggets thanks to Ty Lawson’s career game (balling in the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Cool Grey’). The other LA team is still stuck in First Round limbo, as the Grizzlies staved off elimination with a key Game 5 victory. But six of the eight Second Round teams have already been established – one of them being the Miami Heat, who finally extinguished the battered Knicks in Game 5. To round out the headlines from the last two nights: The Sixers ‘upset’ the Rose-less Bulls, Tracy McGrady still hasn’t seen the Second Round, and Blake Griffin’s Hyperdunk Elites go under the microscope. Check out the highlights of the NBA from the last two nights and stay tuned for more 2012 NBA Playoffs coverage. Photos: espn

The NBA Playoffs continued over the past weekend, as we got a look a select number of new sneakers as the teams shifted ‘Home’ and ‘Away’. Starting off, Kobe Bryant wore a PE Black/Yellow colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Elite (not far off from the Gold), as he led the Lakers to a 3-1 lead over the Nuggets. The Lakers’ local counterparts also featured some new sneakers, like CP3′s ‘Home’ colorway of the Playoffs joints and Eric Bledsoe’s LeBron 9 ‘Christmas’. Out East, Carmelo pulled out NY’s first Playoff win in years in a White/Orange/Grey PE of the Jordan Melo M8, while Rajon Rondo led the Celtics to a 3-1 advantage over the Hawks while wearing the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 in a White/Green PE (Rondo once mentioned that the 2k4 was the most comfortable basketball shoe he ever wore). All eight Playoff match-ups have moved beyond to Game 3 (the Indy/Orlando series are already gearing up for Game 4) and we’re starting to get a better idea of who will move up to the Second round and who will say good bye. We already showed you LeBron James’ PE of the Elite 9 and Kobe’s Purple/White ‘Supreme’ Kobe VII, but let’s take a look at what else was spotted over the last three nights of Playoff basketball; Dwyane Wade wore the White/Black/Red colorway Fly Wade 2 EV, while Landry Fields, who checked Wade on D most of the night, wore the Wolf Grey Kobe VII. Paul George finally swapped out to a Kobe VII iD was a fade option, while opponent Earl Clark wore the Nike Air Max Penny 1. Out West, OJ Mayo wore a PE of the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Elite, and in San Antonio, sneakerhead-duo DeJuan Blair and NBA Feet Rookie of the Year Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs to a W with the Black/Cement III and Air Jordan XII Low ‘Black/Nubuck’, respectively. Plenty of more NBA Playoff Feet action below, so take a look and stay tuned for more NBA Feet coverage of the 2012 NBA Playoffs! Photos: espn

Don’t look now, but Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers are up 2-0 in their series with the Denver Nuggets, and could meet the San Antonio Spurs in the second round – familiar fighting grounds for these two franchises. For Game 2, Kobe Bryant switched from ‘Elite’ to ‘System’ as he dropped 38 nuggets on the Nuggets while wearing a Purple/White PE colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Supreme. As the Lakers now take the short flight to Denver for Game 3, we should expect to see the Mamba wear the Black/Purple PE of the Zoom Kobe VII Elite (the Gold issues are against league regulations), so we’ll keep you in tune with that. More on Kobe’s Game 2 PE below, so take a look and if you like ‘em, you can actually build your own on Nike iD! Photos: espn

The NBA Playoffs kicked off this weekend with back-to-back days of action-packed NBA action. The first game of has proven to be the pace-maker for these seven-game series, but as teams enter play tonight, fortunes can change. The Playoffs started off on a bit of a down note, as reigning MVP Derrick Rose and rookie phenom Iman Shumpert suffered season-ending injuries that will undoubtedly change the fortunes of their teams. There were still plenty of gallant performances to note, like Chris Paul’s daring comeback, Andrew Bynum’s triple-double, and Josh Smith’s 22-and-18 – all coming during victories. For kicks, it was our first look at the Nike Basketball Elite Series, as Kobe Bryant wore his Elite VII ‘Home’ with a purple swoosh, while LeBron wore his Elite 9 with a red swoosh. Kevin Durant, who was not included in the Elite Series, wore a clean White/Blue PE of the Zoom KD IV, and the Hyperdunk 2011 Elite was worn by Nike big-men Chris Bosh and Tyson Chandler. Check out all of the NBA action from the first two nights of NBA Playoff action and stay tuned to Sneaker News for continual coverage! Photos: yahoo
