Although the brand’s marquee athletes in the sport will miss the festivities due to injury, their competitive spirit will not be forgotten as they root on for their American brethren as the nation vies for Gold. Thanks to one Derrick Rose the adidas adiZero line has been draped in black/red/white as its go-to look for a minute now, spinning the series with a distinct Chicago feel. A recent trip out to Europe for the Three Stripes’ adidas EUROCAMP, the premier pre-NBA Draft training spot for international players, has the combo revamped a bit-switching the typical red sections out for a touch of orange in the accents. The sneakers benefiting from the remix are the adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2, which the players will rock on-court at the camp, and the adidas ClimaCool Seduction and adidas Originals adiHigh EXT for all their non b-ball activities. Even if he represents a different conference than the one many would have expected were this statement uttered just a month or so ago, adidas does indeed find itself with a legitimate shot to capture the NBA Championship with one of its marquee players. The Great Tim Duncan is leading a San Antonio Spurs team that’s playing like a well-oiled machine, and even if Timmay is too big to rock Crazy Lights night in and night out, here’s a new pair that’d perfectly match SATX’ unique greyscale uniforms. The adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 in Dark Onyx and Tech Grey with white accents is better suited to slashing players who look to maximize their lightweight advantage with razor sharp lateral cuts. Following up on the very Bulls-looking colorway we landed a preview of last week, adidas Basketball seems content to create combos for the new adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 that line up with the some of the strongest teams in the East. This time around the homage points to Beantown, a longtime hub for Three Stripes fanatics, with a simple Celtics styled upper of black, green, and white.
