adidas Basketball: The Return of D Rose: “Push”

“A normal person would stop right when they feel pain. I try to go through it . . . to make myself different.”

Thanks to adidas Basketball’s latest marketing campaign, sports fans have by now memorized that sick (not in a good way) Kevin Harlan call from Game 1 of last year’s Eastern Conference Quarterfinals: “Holding on to his knee. Holding onto his knee and down.” With those words, Derrick Rose‘s season ended along with the Chicago Bulls’ championship aspirations, but don’t expect the NBA’s youngest-ever MVP to just stay down. D-Rose’s knee kept him out of the Olympics this summer, but he worked just as hard as those repeat champions to get back to their level, putting in countless hours of painful rehabilitation so he can once again run the court at United Center. Click through to see part four of ‘The Return of D Rose’ (the ‘Wake Up’ clip is actually the aforementioned TV ad) and stick with Sneaker News for more on Derrick’s comeback in the adizero Rose 3.

The fate of the Chicago Bulls lies in the hands – or knees – of Derrick Rose. With that said, the upcoming 2012-13 NBA Season isn’t going to be as peachy-keen for the Bulls, and although Coach Thibodeau has prepared the a Rose-less Bulls quite well, there is no hiding from the fact that without the former MVP, the Bulls are, at best, a middle-of-the-pack team. We’re all pulling for a quick and speedy (and careful) recovery for Derrick Rose because the he’s just too awesome of a talent to be sitting on the sidelines, and although we may miss out on the opportunity of seeing Rose wearing his third signature shoe, which player in the NBA without a signature shoe do you feel should ‘fill in’ for Rose and his 3.0? Is there anyone in the league that can go toe-to-toe with Rose? Check out the extra angles of the Black/Red ‘Bulls’ colorway of the adiZero Rose 3.0 and let us know. Photos: hupu

The sneaky shots of the adidas adiZero Rose 3.0 continue, with another teaser popping up that gives a considerably more thorough idea of what to expect from this upcoming silhouette from adidas Basketball. Fittingly showing its face in a ‘bred’ combo, the initial look displays a redone Derrick Rose logo that makes better use of his floral familial name. Also notable is the absence of Three Stripes branding save for the vertical hit on the back end, an approach established to some degree already by the adidas adiZero 2.5. The multi-layered Sprint upper seems to be in effect as well, decorating the sneaker with smaller perforations than ever before with the red sectioning peeking out between the black. adidas adiZero Rose 3.0 + 2.5 + 773

adidas adizero rose upcoming teaser 1 adidas adiZero Rose 3.0 + 2.5 + 773

Derrick’s game is rich in explosion, scoring prowess, and leadership. Derrick’s wallet, on the other hand, is just rich. After signing a five-year extension with the Chicago Bulls, reports regarding a life-time contract with adidas worth $250 million floated around during the beginning of last month. It’s an investment worth every penny because while the U.S. market is dominated by Nike Basketball and its Big Three, the adidas Rose series, according to sources, outsells the Nike LeBron and competes with the Nike Zoom Kobe in China. adidas is already poised for a strong continuation of the adidas adiZero Rose 2 with the recent unveiling of the 2.5, but here we have a nice teaser shot of the 2.5 side-by-side-by-side with the adidas adiZero 773 and the upcoming adidas adiZero 3.0. Sandwiched between the 773 (left) and the 2.5 (right) is the 3.0, which features Rose’s ’1′ jersey number on the upper heel, a redesigned three-stripes applique on the heel that reached down into the outsole, and a higher ankle cut to protect Derrick Rose’s multi-million-dollar ankles. Check out a full shot of these three below and stick with Sneaker News for more adidas Rose updates. via regularolty
