Packer Shoes find themselves right at the heart of the basketball retro niche at the moment, recently showing off a second Reebok Question collabo and re-introducing the world to the ABA’s New Jersey Americans. A few weeks back, the ‘Americans’ adidas Originals Conductor Hi debuted at a special Saturday night event at Packer’s Teaneck location, and with only 600 pairs created, that means considerably fewer will be available at additional retailers. Louisiana sneaker lovers Politics‘ Lafayette door is one where you can find these now, with online sales to follow on Friday if any pairs make it that long. Keep an eye out for these popping up at a handful of additional adidas Originals retailers now.

The return of Patrick Ewing’s Conductor hightop from adidas along with his eponymous label and the success of the redesigned New York basketball uniforms have the Knicks’ blue and orange riding high at the moment. A recap of the night’s happenings is just below so check ‘em out and cop a pair for yourself directly from Packer Shoes.

Before the Barclays Center, before the Nets and even before New Jersey, the New York Americans got their start in 1966 with plans to play at Manhattan’s 69th Regiment Armory. That arrangement fell through and the Americans ended up playing home games at Teaneck, New Jersey’s own armory building, followed by a name change to reflect the NY metro area. So before they became the NJ (or even NY) Nets, the new Brooklyn babies always had their roots in the Garden State, and Teaneck’s best sneaker supplier just released their tribute to a team now long gone in more ways than one. The Packer Shoes x adidas Originals Conductor Hi ‘NJ Americans’ dropped at Packer’s main spot on Saturday and are now available in limited numbers from Packer Shoes online, so have a closer look below but don’t linger too long or they’ll be all gone.

The mounting excitement surrounding the Ewing Athletics comeback is almost uncontainable (a release date has been finally confirmed), but things are about to get extra special as adidas joins the mix by bringing back its own Ewing specialty – the adidas Conductor Hi. This adidas high-top classic was worn by the seven-foot skyscraper in New York City before he embarked on his own signature shoe endeavor, but the nostalgia factor still lives on in these three-striped icons. The ‘Knicks’ colorway of the adidas Conductor Hi won’t be around everywhere and the availability will limited to select stores in the U.S., so don’t hesitate to ride the adidas Ewing wave by copping your pair right now at Packer Shoes.
