The adidas Originals Gazelle OG is one of those impeccable classics whose elegant if technologically surpassed designs inform today’s minimalism. Three Stripes uses it selectively with a handful of premium releases issued at seemingly random intervals and densities throughout the year, so hopefully this new Infrared and Metallic Gold edition signals more on the way. If so, they’d be an adi-answer to Size?’s two-times-two pack of ‘Hairy’ Nike VNTG Bruins, and given the success of those limited drops, you’ll want to get in on this extremely appealing sleeper now at retailers like Titolo.

With the whole ‘South Beach’/'Miami Vice’ vibe in vogue and coming off a period when we’ve learned to appreciate how versatile grey kicks can be, pastels are perfectly situated to provide a muted color pop that you can apply to a variety of wardrobe combinations. Take for example this adidas Originals Gazelle OG ‘Ice Cream Pack’, a quartet of leather-on-the-inside, suede-on-the-outside whose ‘ice cream paint job’ gives you a way to sneak in some extra summer energy into an outfit that wouldn’t accommodate a bold primary color. Three dinner mint colorups are joined by the pink-lined navy edition that showed up early in France, and now all four are available at select Three Stripes retailers. via Sneaker Freaker

adidas Originals thrilled us with a sick run of white-on-color Gazelle OGs last year, and the 2012s are starting to roll in with just enough of a change so as to keep the series at the peak of its powers. One of two adidas Originals Gazelle OGs comes in the kind of navy blue suede whose white accents make for a timeless and almost stately appearance. But hot pink accents on this particular pair pushes them over the top, resulting in a shoe you can use as the exclamation point on an otherwise unassuming ensemble (much how they stand out against the khakis in these images). A violet pair flips the script and uses black on its lining and branding; which application would you be more likely to rock? Let us know when you click through to see more, and check for these at Three Stripes retailers like SNKRS.

If you asked a hundred sneakerheads to picture a pair of Gazelles, ninety-nine of them would probably mention one of this Three Stripes classics’ many suede colorups. But this latest release proves that this tenured veteran can handle smooth leather just as well, a duo of new adidas Originals Gazelle lowtops that echo one of this season’s most endearing trends. They nail that almost stately look with the golden leather lining and crisp unicolored leather uppers, white and navy versions of which have the potential to anchor your springtime smart casual rotation. Examine these in greater detail after the jump and look for them at select adidas Originals retailers like Italy’s Shoelosophy. via FNG

adidas Originals tends to rely less upon official release dates than Nike Sportswear, but here’s a case when a whole heap of new Three Stripes classics have come available at once. When you’ve got a collection like this that runs the gamut of a brand’s heritage models, it can be hard to pick a standout model, so we’ll just start at the bottom of the list (in alphabetical order, that is) with a new adidas ZX500 in a colorway that would have been right at home in Philly around the model’s 1984 debut. That rounds out the running category, but there are plenty more lowtops thanks to a duo of Gazelle IIs plus one Gazelle OG, the immortal Rod Laver and Stan Smith, and one pair of Campuses. Rounding out the group are two newer designs, both lifestyle oriented midtops with basketball inspiration in the adiRise Mid and Roundouse Mid. Click through for shots of the entire set and look for yours at select adidas Originals accounts like New York’s Extra Butter.
