Given the current crossover between skateboarding and running shoes, is it possible the ZX Vulc will have a similar impact for adidas Skate as the ZX Flux is having for Originals?  We’ll only know once they actually hit stores, but Three Stripes has been deliberate with that rollout, as well as other new skate shoes like the pair pictured above.  The adidas Gonz Pro is of course Mark Gonzales’ signature shoe, the longest-tenured adi-rider’s personalized branding present at the heel of an otherwise Orlando Magic sort of colorway.  Check them out from a few more angles below, then cop yours from shops like Flatspot.

After seeing the 2013 holiday releases of the adidas Gonz Pro, we finally see the first Gonz Pro collaboration, slated for Fall 2014. For said collab, adidas has chosen to mix it up with skating company KROOKED Skateboards. The sneaker’s upper features black suede throughout, with mint green accents on the elastic and inner lining. The most notable aspect of the shoe, however, is the “KROOKEDXadidas” text on the heel, where the “x” is made out of bone graphics. Are you excited to see adidas using the Gonz Pro in collaborations? Let us know in the comments and stick with Sneaker News for more.

adidas Gonz Pro – Holiday 2013 Colorways

With basketball and soccer having already given much to the foundation of skate footwear, it seems that running shoes are exerting an increased influence of late.  On the Nike SB side of things, we’ve seen several of their signatures remade in the likeness of successful runners.  Supra’s Owen might have been the earliest sign, as the relatively young skate brand reached out not into basketball, training or some other sport, but rather, a casual running niche.  The recently introduced adidas Skateboarding Gonz Pro is another example, this slip-on-able Mark Gonzales lowtop taking inspiration from the 1970s Azteca track spike, most notably the heel ‘x’.  These grey/green and black/white/gum pairs have gone gold and should be in stock at adidas Skate retailers shortly, so check out both from more angles below.

Transworld’s ‘Most Influential Skater of All-Time’ has applied his personal touches to plenty of adidas Skateboarding product over the years.  In celebrating a decade and a half with The Brand with the Three Stripes, Mark Gonzales comes through with a whole collaborative capsule, including two new footwear models and a variety of cut and sew apparel pieces Gonz himself helped to create.  The adidas Gonz Pro and Gonz Slip were both inspired by the Azteca track spike worn at the 1966 Mexico City Olympics, and in turn have been made more eye-catching courtesy of graphics Mark drew by hand.  Both feature elasticized gussets for easy on and off, and you can see the whole collection after the jump, which is available now at select adidas Skate retailers.

Mark Gonzales is adidas Skateboarding’s living legend, and he gets some serious leeway with pro model designs.  Three Stripes skate shoes have featured colorways designed by Gonz with his own artwork, but this one finds an interesting balance between the man and his brand.  These new adidas Skate Gonz Pro lowtops add an elastic gusset to make them easier to slip on and off, but you might not notice it because instead of adidas’ iconic Three Stripes, this colorway is completely covered in alternating blue and red of varying widths.  There’s also a brown/silver makeup if you’re into something more traditional, so check out both colorways after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on this fall 2013 debut.
