Its boot-like ‘Hook’ variant features a name that’s a bit closer to this silo’s connection with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, but the adidas Originals Honey Mid W isn’t about capturing the classic basketball vibe, per se. That’s going to happen any time you bring a new vulc-soled blucher hightop to market (particularly one influenced by the NBA scoring GOAT’s adi- signature), but the Honey Mid manages to separate itself from the pack with unique patterned styles like this Christmas ski sweater-ish Trefoil knit. adidas Originals have been tearing it up with animal print designs this year , and here’s a quartet of new designs that ensures they’ll keep that momentum into the holiday season. Ladies will have their pick of adidas Originals Superstar 2s in both zebra and leopard prints, both of which are replicated on the Honey hightop and its Honey Winter superhightop variation, respectively. That last one features a silhouette far enough outside the bounds of normalcy that you can only imagine how much attention a design covered in feline rosettes will attract, and they’re available now at select Three Stripes retailers like Caliroots.

The adidas Originals Honey midtops launched about two years ago as part of Three Stripes’ collaboration with the French artist Fafi, and like several other adidas lifestyle offerings, has evolved to take on familiar design cues from footwear standards. We’ve seen a desert boot variant and nowsomething a bit more rugged with the Honey Hook for women, a bright blue suede release with black accents and a white vulc sole that’s prime for guys of the right size to 1.5-up and grab a pair.
