adidas la trainer january 2014 05 adidas LA Trainer January 2014 Releases

The adidas Originals LA Trainer represents an interesting time in the history of The Brand with the Three Stripes.  adidas was gearing up for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles but at the same time, their ZX running series was about to launch and take the company in a new direction.  The LA Trainer represents the end of the City-inspired names and the adjustable peg cushioning system, but its classic aesthetics live on with new colorways including the two pictured in detail below.  These bookend the period of then and now with one classic USA palette and another in tonal grey, so take a closer look after the jump, then pre-order yours so they’ll ship in January from Titolo.

The LA Trainer is one of a few classic adidas models whose stripes themselves have stripes.  This means that the zig zag edges of those famed branding lines can be one color and the middle another to let the logo shine through while subtly anchoring itself into the overall colorway.  This latest adidas Originals LA Trainer is a perfect example, a mostly Slate blue pair that carefully adds Metallic Silver stripes atop a White Vapour midsole.  Click through for a closer view so you can appreciate the detail, then grab a pair from Originals accounts like Titolo.
