Fairly quiet since Cliché Skateboards commemorated its fifteenth anniversary with a collaborative design, Lucas Puig’s Three Stripes signature model returns for spring with a new colorway. The adidas Skate Lucas Pro comes to us today in a Titan Grey makeup that’s been accented by the classic adi royal blue plus golden branding elements. OFWGKTA’s Vercetti is gaining notoriety across the internet thanks to his relationship with Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughter Tallulah, but expect another (relatively famous person who likes to ride skateboards named) Lucas to trend higher here for a spell thanks to the release of his first adidas Skateboarding signature model. Three Stripes purists are always clamoring for French-built pairs, so the teamup between former Lakai rider Lucas Puig and adidas Skate seems like a match made in heaven. Lucas was rocking the adi-standby Skate before his Vintage Rod Lavers arrived in April, and judging from the design of his first signature sneaker, the Aussie tennis great’s iconic lowtop must’ve made a big impression. It’s clear that the adidas Skatebording Lucas Pro takes its cues from classic tennis styles like Laver’s, but none of those heritage models can compete with the SprintSkin upper that puts these in a sweet spot between featherweight and fully capable. Check out three colorways in greater detail after the jump, let us know which is best and stick with Sneaker News as we approach the July 2012 launch. via FNG

adidas Skateboarding’s French rep Lucas Puig just got his first colorway of the Skate lowtop released just before Christmas and should see his Rod Laver Skate drop shortly, and already Three Stripes is already moving to suit up the former Lakai rider in his own signature model. And from the early rumblings in and around the adi skate team, the adidas Lucas Pro is shaping up to be a strong new regular when it hits retailers this summer. The thin cupsole gives vulc-like advantages while still providing cushioning in the EVA midsole, and they come right out of the box fairly flexible and ready to skate.
