The adidas Originals ‘Collectors Project’ has to be one of the coolest collaborations on record. The Brand with the Three Stripes selected five devotees to design their own colorway on their own special selections. It’s exciting to think that a passion for sneakers can turn into your very own one day, and that’s what has happened here for hardcore adi-fanatics from the US (that would be NY-based DJ Operator Emz’s Pro Model), UK, Japan, Germany and Finland. It’s not too often that you see a sneaker brand giving back to its most devoted of collectors in thanks for their years of dedicate. adidas Originals has decided to do that with the new “Collector’s Project”, a series that brought five Three Stripes devotees from around the world to the company’s Berlin HQ to create their own SMU. The models selected include the adidas Originals Pro Model 80s, the adidas Originals ZX500, and more-with the individuals involved touch a little bit in the video on the difficulties of properly homage a treasured silhouette while maintaining a personal spin.
