When you think of old school basketball sneakers, chances are the material that comes to mind is leather. Indeed when the adidas Originals Decade Hi first hit the scene back in the 80′s the NBA was dominated by sneakers utilizing white leathers in conjunction with popping hits of color. Having outgrown its status as a basketball sneaker, the adidas Originals Decade Hi is back in a luxurious suede, shown here in the tone of lone blue. The sneakers also get an update in the form of the cushioned, perforated tongue in place of the leather one on the originals. Bread & Butter has long been one of the biggest trade shows in Europe, with the floor at this fashion mecca often being the spot of first sightings for upcoming lines and collaborations. adidas Originals has been there as a sponsor from the get-go, and with Bread & Butter kicking off its tenth year this week, a celebratory sneaker is in the works to mark the momentous occasion. The Bread & Butter 10th anniversary shoe comes in the form of an adidas Originals Decade Hi, a fitting model given the name. This super limited 500 pair run comes with a leather upper that alternates tones with a clean red and white colorway, featuring with a special tenth anniversary Bread & Butter logo hit in the heel area. The only way to get your hands on these will be at select German retailers this week, or at the B&B trade which kicked off today. Aside from that a single pair will be raffled off online at the adidas Originals website, so you can try your luck there if you won’t be in Berlin over the next couple of days.
