“It’s very important to understand all aspects of the shoemaking process.”
adidas Originals designer Ilka Liebmann emphasized the influence of longtime Three Stripes creative contributor Markus Thaler in a new video that details the process by which Thaler delegated and brought to fruition a new pack of collaborative releases. In ‘The Legacy of Craftsmanship’, we see young designers learning from the aged master how to best realize concepts created for adi-reppers Derrick Rose, Lionel Messi, Snoop Dogg and Caroline Wozniacki. The respective output of adidas Originals Torsion Attitude, Samba, Pro Shell and Courtstars are highly expressive and personalized, and reflect the dedication to excellence that made Thaler’s 40-plus years and the Originals line’s first decade so successful. Stick with Sneaker News to find out when these release and check out the full video below in the meantime.

One such popular element is to add the brogue perforations seen on wingtip shoes to models with a formal lean, a perfect example of which is this new adidas Originals Superstar LTO. The rich brown oiled leather extends to the Superstar’s signature shell toe and gives way to the aforementioned hole-punches between the side panel stripes. Toss in tonal laces, metal eyelets and a white sole and these are quite fetching, and you can fetch a pair from Three Stripes retailers like SNS.
