When you put the words “adidas” and “court” together, chances are some of the Derrick Rose models are the first things that come to mind. The adidas Originals line has their own court model though, the Top Court to be specific, a one-time basketball shoe that has slid into the realm of casual wear thanks to the continued retro treatment. The pair shown here has a burnt-tan nubuck for the uppers, in a molded look that comes off something like last year’s VT bonanza from Nike. After suiting up this OG trainer with some modern upgrades for a Crazy Light release earlier this year, adidas apparently wants to treat us to the old school version as well. The two colorways shown here feature a very distinguishing set of materials that set them apart from each other. There’s the ice grey/bluebird version, coming in a perforated upper that gets a sleek boost via the patent leather striping. The other release aims more for the classic b-ball shoe aesthetic, with a clean tumbled leather and contrasting eggplant stripes.
