Following our look at two colorways for the second half of 2013 comes the second new adidas Originals Phantom release this month. This new Dark Petrol and Coral release is blocked identically to the whites and black pair that hit stores earlier this month, but that might not be obvious upon first glance given the relative intensity of the respective palettes. The latest proof that blue and orange on a sneaker can do no wrong, the latest Phantom just hit Three Stripes stockists like End.

It looks at this point to be safe to assume that forthcoming Phantom releases from Three Stripes heritage division will be the running and not basketball variety. The adidas Originals Phantom is back with a new colorway after getting back into the swing of things in 2012, ensuring it’ll be around through the third quarter with a couple of monochromatic suede builds that’ll be great sleeper pickups come back-to-school time. adidas Originals brings back a few more classic runners out of the vault for the coming year as a number of less mainstream models are set to make an impact on spring/summer 2013. Perhaps the most notable of the bunch is the adidas Originals Torsion Allegra, who gets in just in the nick of time for a 20th anniversary collabo with Solebox as a prelude of what’s to come when the calendar turns. It’s joined by the Tech Super and ZX 750 in a few new styles each along with the recently resurrected Phantom, and you can see a bunch more photos of the whole set after the jump.

adidas Originals continues to push the classic Phantom runner with new releases, but if you weren’t paying close attention, you might think this pair already released earlier in the year. To the contrary, this new adidas Originals Phantom is distinct from FA12′s Pool and Dark Royal combo, and can be differentiated by the nappier and darker suede overlay, red Stripes instead of white and most definitively by this pair’s prominent heel branding. These will arrive shortly at select Three Stripes retailers and you can see them from both sides after the jump below.

Regular Sneaker News readers will remember adidas Originals issuing an NBA Pack of Phantom IIs a few years back when the Brand with the Three Stripes picked up the league’s exclusive licensing rights, but did you know its ‘prequel’ isn’t a basketball shoe at all?
