adidas has got a Rookie of the Year on their hands once again, and you can bet they’re celebrating with a sneaker release. The Three Stripes will release the adidas Real Deal “Damian Lillard Rookie of the Year” edition on May 23rd, with just 510 pairs being produced and doled out to Compound in Portland, OR, Shoe Palace in Oakland, CA, and adidas’ online store. The sneakers feature Damian’s Twitter handle and plenty of callouts to his Oakland origins, with the selected retailers for the launch obviously connecting the dots between his California upbringing and his current Oregon home. Continue reading for the official images and if you’re in the PDX area keep in mind that there will be a chance to meet Damian at Compound on May 23 between 6:00pm and 7:00pm for the official launch.

Iman Shumpert is a huge reason why the Knicks not only bounced back in the second round series to take Game 2, but also why the Knicks advanced in the first place. During last night’s second game against the Pacers, Iman Shumpert played one of the best all-around games of the season while wearing an interesting pair of shoes – a “Knicks” custom of the adidas Real Deal cooked up by Packer Shoes and executed by Sole Swap (peep the logo on the heel and Iman’s personal logo on ankle). Shumpert also wore another Sole Swap custom a few games back as well – will this partnership between Knicks guard and Sole Swap be something that will flourish throughout the Playoffs? Check out the photos of Iman in the game as well as some exclusive photos (and a video of his vicious put-back dunk) and let us know what you think.

Now that Iman Shumpert is back playing for the Knicks, you can expect the flat-topped wonder to be one of the go-to guys as far as adidias PEs in the NBA. His latest one came in the form of the adidas Real Deal, a model that’s definitely had a spotlight shown on it as of late thanks to its 2013 retro revival. And even though there’s no new tech involved they certainly served Shump just fine when he wore them, as he picked up 16 points last night to help the Knicks on their way to a victory. Continue reading for a full view of the adidas Real Deal made for Iman Shumpert and stay tuned to see what else he brings out as the Knicks continue their strong season.

Capitalizing on the recent success of ’90s basketball peers in the Crazy 8 and Top Ten 2000, Three Stripes resurrected another EQT-era baller for 2013. The adidas Real Deal has been a welcome surprise, bringing back the original colorways along with a variety of new styles including the one pictured above. This latest drop has a unique visual appeal that comes not from a complicated colorway, but rather the printed sockliner and speckled midsole sandwiching the tonal blue upper. A curious graffiti emblem falls in between on the lateral ankle, so you’ll want to check out all these details in more photos, then grab a pair from adidas Originals retailers like Oneness.

A few weeks ago, new ground was broken in the sneaker community when Dwyane Wade wore a pair of the Li-Ning Way of Wade created by Mache Customs. We noted the significance of that event as the opening of the door to more NBA on-feet customs, and it looks like there was one this past weekend when New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert wore this nice adidas Real Deal custom designed by Jason Negron aka Sole Swap. Classic Knicks colorways never fail in getting our attention, but when it’s a pair of customs, it’s always worth a second look. Check out a full shot of Iman’s customs below as well as some in-game shots and stay tuned for more potential custom kicks on NBA Feet!

The adidas Real Deal was a retro that popped up out of nowhere at the end of January, and all of a sudden has more than doubled in its available colorways. Included in the just released group is this combination of light grey and prism blue, which offers up quite a colorful look that has the potential to be pretty popular once the Winter expires and folks starting bringing the bright sneakers back out. adidas’ contemporary basketball designs have emphasized the super-sleek streamlined designs with an emphasis on “lightweight” “(See: Crazy Light), but the adidas Real Deal sorta puts those ideas aside and goes back to the late 90′s design focus with the chunky and bulbous outsoles. Throw in the off-center lacing structure and you have quite the appealing construction that could have very well been another adidas Kobe signature model, don’t you think? We’re beginning to see some NBA players lace up in the Real Deal as well, so these clearly serve style and function. This dope Turquoise/Aqua colorway just hit stores like CNCPTS so peep the angles below and let us know what you think.

adidas is certainly turning back the clock with the design of the adidas Real Deal, which clearly borrows some design cues from the earlier adidas Kobe line and the Top Ten 2000 model. Thanks to the punchy colorways like this two-toned match of Vivid Red and a lighter peach/salmon tone, the Real Deal is a viable streetwear selection as well. There’s a lot more to see in terms of colorways for the Real Deal, and they’re all beginning to hit retailers now so an in-store visit to your local adidas retailer is worth the trip. Even better, CNCPTS has this colorway available right now in store with a special in-store event with Celtics guard Avery Bradley and former Celtics player Antoine Walker so don’t forget to stop by today.
