Bueno Skateboards made a name in the middle ’00s with their whimsical deck designs, but like many brands faced with financial challenges in and around the 2008 meltdown, they had to take things in a new direction to remain viable. Roger Skateboards phoenix’d from Bueno’s ashes with the same founding team in ’08, featuring Michael Sieben’s distinctive designs and a crew of riders who’ll love to get their hands on the label’s first sneaker collaboration. The Roger x adidas Ronan is done in navy suede with red accents including the Sieben-penned sockliner and tongue label, and features the guest designer’s brand name in gold on the side panels as well. Let us know how this first Ronan collabo compares to earlier colorways and stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability. Photo: Kasina

adidas Skateboarding has a Lucas Puig signature lined up to join Silas Baxter-Neal and Dennis Busenitz’ namesake models, but might longtime Three Stripes rider Mark Gonzales have the best setup with no signature whatsoever? Gonz freely floats between just about the entire adidas Skate lineup (aforementioned sigs notwithstanding), and after personalized colorways on the adiEase, Immotile, and Superskate, he’s about to kick-push in the newest adi-Skate silo. The adidas Ronan ‘Gonz’ would draw comparisons to the legendary ‘Tiffany’ Dunks if it a Nike SB project, but a more accurate description would be their official color Lab Green — ‘lab’ like laboratory, as in impeccibly clean precision. Click through for a few more angles on the ‘Gonz’ Ronan and grab yours from select retailers like MIA.

adidas Skateboarding just offered up a couple glimpses into their plans for early 2012, but much like the brand that’s their biggest hurdle in the skate sneaker space, Three Stripes’ spring ’12 kicks are coming out in time to capitalize on the holiday shopping rush. The star of this set is clearly the adidas Busenitz, replicated across three colorways true to the design’s Samba influence, especially the black/white/gum edition. There are also two new Eldridge lowtops, one in Dark Cinder and another cosigned by Pete Eldrige in Cardinal Red suede, about the same shade you’ll find on the stripes of Lucas Puig’s latest Skate release. Check out all six pairs in more detail after the jump and look for these now at select adidas Skate retailers like Premier.

The adidas Ronan is a new model from the skateboarding division over at the three stripes, a signature from Pete Eldrigde, whose name is embroidered on the side of these sneakers. The colorway seen here is reminiscent of the classic Nike SB Dunk ‘Vamps’ with their deadly combo of black and blood red. This sleek lowtop from the growing adidas Skateboarding division imports classic elements from the adidas lineage to suit the needs of skaters. adidas Skateboarding introduced a new model this year as Pete Eldrige’s pro model, a sleek, low-profile design whose indoor football-like silhouette is a slightly more progressive take on how Dennis Busenitz’ sig borrowed from the legendary Samba. But it turns out Pete isn’t the only ‘All In’ rider rocking the adidas Ronan, as Benny Fairfax has just received his own pair in black suede with white accents. This is the type of simple colorway you might expect/want to see with a gum sole, but they look quite nice all the same and are currently available at adidas Skate shops like Flatspot.

Many have suggested Nike SB is getting back to its roots this year, as evidenced by the rehashing of familiar old colorways along with a return to simpler palettes in general. But if you look at the history of adidas Skateboarding, while we’ve seen several head-turners over the years, it’s just as easy to argue that Three Stripes’ skate division has always been offering the kind of simply satisfying looks that took hold in the early to mid ’90s. Take these three new pairs, for example — each of them uses no more than three colors on a classic silhouette to offer a trio of timeless looks in the adidas Skate Ronan (Pete Eldridge’s pro model), the Dennis Busenitz sig and a campus vulc that looks good no matter who’s wearing’ em. Click through to see all three and grab these from select adidas Skateboarding retailers like Premier.
