neighorhood adidas originals stan smith release date NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas Consortium Stan Smith Global Release Date

The Neighborhood x adidas Consortium Stan Smith will release on March 1st, 2014. What should come as a surprise to nobody is that the sneakers were already released in NBHD’s native Japan, but fortunately the rest of the world is getting a crack at them as well. The shoes end up a bit lighter than your typical Neighborhood fare, perhaps on account of the adjacent Mastermind collab that went the nearly blackout route. adidas stan smith oil spill 01 570x400 adidas Originals Stan Smith Oil Spill

The latest sneaker to get the ‘Oil Spill’ treatment from adidas Originals is probably not one you would have expected, based on the earlier releases.  All of those previous styles had been basketball retros, but this new pack includes running and tennis silos as well, the latter being represented above.  The adidas Stan Smith ‘Oil Spill’ is just one of what’s already becoming an incredible year for the returning Stan Smith.  It’s done in black with that signature iridescent effect , but grounded in an organic off-white tone that was really a skillful choice by whomever selected it.  Click in to get a better sense for why that subtle detail really takes this shoe to the next level, then cop yours from Originals accounts like Oki-Ni.

Opening Ceremony x adidas Baseball Stan Smith – Available

opening ceremony adidas baseball stan smith available 01 900x600 Opening Ceremony x adidas Baseball Stan Smith Available

NY-based clothing label Opening Ceremony just bypassed one of only two opportunities that comes around each four years to do something Olympic-oriented tied in with their name.  Instead of getting in on the Sochi bandwagon, OC came up with some original content and treated the returning Stan Smith to an unexpected remix.  The Opening Ceremony x adidas Baseball Stan Smith hightops have an upper silhouette that’s more like the traditional Pro Model without the Superstar shell toe, all atop the classic pegged outsole.  The Baseball Stan Smith’s stripes are made of woven laces like a fielder’s mitt, and in doing so make the dual-branded tongue tags relevant.  There was no release date reported on these but that’s because they’ve made a surprise appearance at retail, available now at Originals accounts like Politics.
