Snoop Dogg/Lion hasn’t done much with adidas Originals since the ‘Ebenezer Snoop’ Christmas video. The former Doggfather has gone through quite a transformation in recent years, but we’d expect this latest Three Stripes release to remind the LBC native of old loves. The adidas Originals Superstar 2 is presented today in white leather with alternating stripes whose colors will instantly remind you of the Los Angeles Lakers’ dominance around the time of the Shelltoes’ mid-’80s debut. Following up on the all-white adidas Originals Superstar II we showcased on Inauguration Day comes another monotone leather release that’s fit for a black-tie affair. Three Stripes’ iconic Shelltoe will always be remembered in its original black-on-white leather rendition as endorsed by rap pioneers Run-DMC. adidas Originals continues a substantial snakeskin rollout as we approach the Year of the Snake on February 10th. The Chinese New Year-inspired Superstar 80s are the snake-est of all Three Stripes CNY designs, opting for a fully scaled upper contrasted by black suede on both white and red makeups. This new adidas Originals Superstar II, then, is something like the inversion of the latter, sticking with scaled branding on a red leather base. adidas Originals just released a Run-DMC inspired pair of Superstar shelltoes with a dookie gold rope lacelock, an item that can be seen as a piece of proto-bling from hip-hop’s golden age. This latest pack ofadidas Originals Superstar IIs is a bit more direct with its approach to the sparkly street look, everything from all the branding on these four pairs to their ‘Bling Pack’ identity a sign of shine.
