The special mock-ups of adidas’ Retro models have some special themes that tie the models together, like this new colorway of the adidas T-Mac 1 that has Fresh Prince-style graffiti font on the heel that reads “93″. You might recognize the logo on a recent adidas Top Ten 2000 we showed you, and aside from the logo, the Joy Blue/Orange/Yellow colorway and the exploding black speckling definitely ties the two together. A detailed gallery lies below so give it a review and cop right now directly from the adidas online store.

adidas Basketball has made some interesting moves over the last few weeks, outfitting its brand athletes in some signature D Rose shoes and some of its celebrated Retros like the adidas Top Ten 2000. Josh Smith of the Hawks has been wearing the Black/Light Scarlet colorway of the adidas T-Mac 1 – a popular model that is currently going through a rather successful Retro run thanks to the punchy colorways old and new. The Black/Light Scarlet colorway does feature some nice hints of gold, so check out the new images below and cop directly from adidas.

The battle for LeBron that went on between Nike and adidas was a heated one, but in the end it was Swoosh brand that came out on top when a shoe deal was confirmed before the prep-to-pro baller even played a regular season game in the NBA. It turned out to be one of the best business moves ever made by Nike, because the LeBron line is ten installments strong and no end is really in sight. So, what could have been for adidas had they secured LeBron as their next of kin? At the very least, they were a definitely a serious candidate as they were already the outfitter of LeBron’s SVSM team; many of LeBron’s high-school games were played with three-stripes gear, for which this adidas T-Mac 1 retro pays tribute to. Packer Shoes has a limited run of these re-issues in stock right now at $110, so don’t miss out on this great adidas release!

Although Tracy McGrady doesn’t have much to do with the ‘Year of the Snake’ (he’s actually a Sheep guy, being born in ’79), T-Mac was at one point considered to be the best player in the league…with Kobe ‘Black Mamba’ Bryant trailing him. Unfortunately for Tracy, injuries got in the way of a truly magical career, but he still manages to enjoy a heightened level of popularity in China thanks to his teammate Yao Ming, who served as one of the most effect global ambassadors of the game. The adidas T-Mac 1 ‘Year of the Snake’ was previewed recently featuring a shimmering electric blue snake-skin print, so if you’re feeling these T-Mac classics inspired by the 2013 Zodiac, cop them right now at adidas.

A re-release of the original adidas T-Mac line in the U.S. might not be met with a universal opening of the arms, but with McGrady’s persistent popularity in China and his recent move to play overseas, the T-Mac Retro could stir up the excitement of the old days when T-Mac was one of the most popular players in the league. We’ve seen plenty of original and all-new adidas T-Mac 1 colorways hit stores, but for 2013, there’s a special ‘Year of the Snake’ version in store; it features a shimmering metallic blue snakeskin upper with light green piping and adidas branding on the upper as well as custom insoles and red snake-skin graphic box. Is T-Mac taking a page out of Kobe’s book? Peep the images below and let us know what you think of the adidas T-Mac 1 ‘Year of the Snake’ and we’ll let you know if these ever arrive in the States.

This is a fact: at one point, Tracy McGrady was the best individual basketball player on the planet. Sure, he’s had some trouble in the NBA Playoffs, but that’s not because he didn’t play up to speed, because his Playoff numbers are just as good (if not better than) his regular season output. The truth of the matter is that the team build around T-Mac wasn’t anything close to the caliber of a true contender, and during one of the adidas T-Mac ad campaigns, he pointed out that his team still lost even after he dropped 50 on the Nuggets. In any case, McGrady’s career trajectory has been on a steady decline, and a few weeks back it was confirmed that Tracy would move on from the NBA and offer his services to pro teams in China, where McGrady is still very popular. This new colorway of the adidas T-Mac 1 pays homage to his earliest roots at the Mt. Zion Christian Academy where he played before being drafted by the Toronto Raptors in ’97. Check out the images below and if you like what you see, get yours now directly from the adidas online shop.

adidas made one helluva move in the early-2000′s by nabbing Tracy McGrady right at the start of his superstar explosion in Orlando. While the potential for greatness was definitely visible when he was in Toronto, it was only when he was the true number-one guy that T-Mac mania took over the NBA. Of course his tenure in Orlando was highlighted more by individual accolades rather than team success (with Grant Hill gone and a frontcourt rotation of Andrew DeClerq, Michael Doleac, Bo Outlaw, and John Amaechi, what can ya do), but McGrady’s legitmacy as a ‘signature shoe’ guy was undoubtedly confirmed. adidas’ plans of re-releasing the original adidas T-Mac shoe has already begun, as Asian retailers have stocked the ‘All-Star’ colorway already, but check out the two more upcoming colorways in the detailed gallery below and let us know if you’ll be looking toward the new adidas T-Mac re-issues in the future.
