Reebok’s first major comeback move didn’t involve the Questions or Swizz Beatz’ new position at the helm, but with the impressive signing of #1 Draft Pick John Wall. The guard for the Washington Wizards was quickly given his own signature line with Zig technology at its core, but a recent development has shed some light on perhaps the latest trace of movement in the sneaker company radar. John Wall was spotted today at Wizards practice wearing a pair of the adidas Top Ten 2000 and not one of his Reebok signature shoes; with a general disinterest in the Zig Basketball models and what some may call Wall’s failure to meet expectations as the “future” of the NBA point guard position, this likely signifies the end of Reebok’s partnership with John Wall and hints at a subsequent signing with adidas Basketball. Stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates on this latest piece of sneaker company free agency news and let us know what you think about Wall’s history of Reebok signature shoes.

For as much we see Wale sporting some fancy sneakers, it’s not too often that he pops up in an adidas creation. Apparently the MMG rapper has decided to broaden his horizons a bit, putting his stamp of approval on the adidas Top Ten 2000 in the ‘Lakers’ colorway from the recent ‘City Pack’. Now that Mr. DMV himself is on board with this retro silhouette, any chance we’ll see the adidas team cook up a DMV tribute? Stay tuned with Sneaker News to see how that story develops and check out this Wale adidas sneaker sighting after the jump.

Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard’s signature models got the Nightmare Before Christmas treatment along with the popular Crazy Light 2 basketballer, but the one that’s arguably best prepared for this bold new style is Kobe Bryant’s first Three Stripes silo. adidas has been admirable in their commitment to superstar point guard Derrick Rose as he continues to recover from a catastrophic knee injury. Three Stripes even found a silver lining, turning what could have been a nightmare of a lost season into part of the connection to this new quartet. Along with the Rose 3, the adidas adiZero Crazy Light 2 and adiPower Howard join the Originals division’s Top Ten 2000 and adiHigh EXT in taking on intricately detailed black and purple designs whose full potential is revealed when the phosphorescent elements can shine in the dark. The Rose 3 still seems on track for a Christmas Eve release but the Crazy Lights and Dwights from this Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired pack are popping up at select retailers so keep your eyes peeled.

During last night’s match-up against the Miami Heat, several of the Atlanta Hawks (the adidas athletes, in particular) opted to wear the same pair of shoes as a display of unity – a selection that raised some viewers’ eyebrows. Josh Smith, Deshawn Stevenson, Devin Harris, and Jeff Teague came down to Miami wearing the adidas Top Ten 2000 in the teal/pink/black ‘South Beach’ colorway, either to fit in with the tropical theme or perhaps to send a message to LeBron that they can get down with ‘South Beach’ as well as anyone else. Apparently, the vision of the teal/pink colorway – arguably the most popular ever on a LeBron shoe – gave King James the necessary motivation as he came through with one of his best games of the season while leading the Heat to victory. What are your thoughts on the Hawks invading South Beach with their adidas Top Ten 2000s?
