Hong Kong streetwear label Subcrew launched their first sneaker collaboration earlier this year when they dipped the Vans OTW Alomar in red back in March.  It’s clear they view that effort as a great success, and will follow it up with a tag team partnership with another major footwear brand.  They bring along one of Singapore’s more popular artists as Jahan Loh applies his name and eye for color to this Subcrew MADE by Jahan x adidas Originals ZX 700.  Stick with Sneaker News for updates on the release at Subcrew UNITY retail locations and check out more photos below in the meantime.

Wood Wood x SNS x adidas Consortium

wood wood x sns x adidas consortium 1 Wood Wood x SNS x adidas Consortium

It’s been nearly two years since Danish streetwear and sneaker specialists Wood Wood released a new collaboration, plenty of time for tons of other stores to get their name out there with guest designer appearances.  Scandi-neighbors SneakersNStuff are one of the brands who’ve used that time to its utmost potential, authoring several collabos while consistently offering other designers’ best.  And now they come together with adidas Originals for a new trio for the holidays, which represents the first time two stores teamed up with a single brand for three ladies-only releases.  The Wood Wood x adidas Gazelle Vintage (the original silo, not the David Beckham x James Bond remake) has a golden suede body to match its cork footbeds, SNS’ ZX 700 combines 2012′s love of black/white and snake textures and Three Stripes themselves finish off the set with a crackle-textured and polka-dotted Basket Profi.  You’ll see them all in more images below, and be sure to check Sneaker News for updates as we approach the December 1st release date.

adidas zx 700 tonal pack adidas Originals ZX 700 September 2012 Colorways

While not encompassing the breadth or sheer frequency of Nike Sportswear Air Max releases, Three Stripes has indeed offered a varied selection of ZX series classic runners in 2012.  The latest is a new adidas Originals ZX 700, a model we last saw arrive with three new colorways in June.  A few more blocked up like this one wouldn’t be bad a-tall, this monochromatic style a trendy look that could easily be replicated across colors beyond the red and blue styles we have here today.  But don’t make the mistake of looking past these; we’ve got more photos waiting below and they’re available now at Size?

The adidas Originals ZX 700 has come through in only a few coloways so far in 2012, but each of them has been novel relative to this 1985 runner’s history.  The new styles are most definitely attention-grabbing (especially the ‘Fluorescent’ edition), but you can’t go wrong with the classic varsity styling that takes these pairs all the way back to their mid ’80s origins.  Three new colorups rely on two colors atop a white base for that timeless golden era appeal, and now that they’ve popped up at Germany’s 43einhalb, you can see more photos below before buying yours today.

Nike Sportswear just put out an Air Max 1 covered entirely in Cyber twill, and while they beat adidas Originals to market with that pair, here’s a similar look applied to a former Three Stripes flagship runner that left its starting line two years before the AM1.  1985′s adidas Originals ZX 700 is revisted in a ‘Fluorescent’ colorup whose vibrant blue accents give these another dimension beyond the unavoidably in-your-face yellow upper.  Click through to see how careful placement of silver and white details give these a bit more balance and stick with Sneaker News for updates on this upcoming release.  via TTB

adidas Originals ZX 700 – Power Blue – Green Blend

adidas originals zx 700 power blue green blend adidas Originals ZX 700 Power Blue Green Blend

The simple fact is, while we still have an almost infinite amount of technical innovation ahead of us, certain things about the sneaker industry are almost set in stone by this point in history.  For example, even in the craziest Jeremy Scott or Y-3 releases, the shape of any sneaker is still going to reflect our natural anatomy.  And because of the fact that we’ve seen so many recognizeable designs over the past couple decades, it seems like the majority of palatable color combos have been utilized and given a nickname.  But then you see something like the adidas Originals ZX 700, a familiar silhouette with a palette so unique, it makes you realize there’s still plenty of real estate left on the color wheel.  These really just employ your basic ‘Microsoft/Google/eBay’ color scheme, but the subtle tweaks to each of the primary colors plus a pinch of purple gives these a simultaneously rustic and vibrant feel.  Solid if not outstanding for a general release, you’ll find these at select adidas Originals accounts like SNS

adidas Originals ZX 700 – Night Sky – Electricity

adidas originals zx 700 night sky electricity adidas Originals ZX 700 Night Sky Electricity

It’s been well over two months since we’ve seen the adidas Originals ZX 700 in a new colorway, and this latest model manages to all at once be almost exactly like those, and nothing like them whatsoever.  The strong similarity comes from the fact that both added brass D-ring eyelets and speckled midsoles to get that outdoorsy trail shoe vibe going, but there’s obviously an extreme disparity between this blacklit neon neckbreaker and the earthier earlier edition.  adidas calls the vibrant blue shade on these ‘Night Sky’ which is an appropriate name for this design, if you’re picturing Times Square or Tokyo, but you can get them from anywhere via Kicks-crew.
