With a million and one reasons to be mad at fast food restaurants and/or adidas Originals collaborators, David Beckham finds himself in a unique position, gearing up not to take on the world’s finest with the English national team, but rather, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. Jamie says David should use his influence to fill impressionable minds with quality, but has Mr. Oliver seen Becks’ ObyO capsule? Models like the adidas Originals ZX 800 D.B. are all substance, stripping away the familiar Three Stripes branding for a balanced meal of sporty running aesthetics and a luxurious feel imparted by premium ‘ingredients’. Have a closer look at how buttery smooth both the black and burgundy leather looks on this ’80s running silo and grab yours from select retailers including Oneness.

Now that he’s a free agent, it seems soccer superstar David Beckham has nothing better to do than crank out sneakers with the adidas Originals team. OK that’s not entirely true, as the David Beckham x adidas Originals capsules are more built around the man’s style than by Becks himself, with James Bond of UNDFTD fame actually doing most of the heavy lifting design-wise. We’ve got a look at what’s on the way for 2012 from this team-up, which features a range of sneakers with a contemporary lean. The favorite adidas ZX 800 DB is back with two bright new colorways, standouts in a pack otherwise characterized by more muted choices. David Beckham is no longer considered one of soccer’s supermen, but that doesn’t mean he can’t release a line of clothing and kicks that seem to magically change when you duck into a narrow doorway. Coming up for the first half of next year is a whole new range of apparel and footwear that looks to blend classic American sportswear sensibilities with military influences. Slated to hit in February of 2012, this collection contains standbys from the James Bond for David Beckham adidas Originals by Originals capsule including the adidas Originals ZX 800 DB in a refreshing white/lime mix, along with a run of fleece sweatshirts that appear as plush as anything Nike and Loopwheeler have crafted. Wait a minute, you mean the world’s favorite British super-spy is getting together with the most famous footballer to release a pair of shoes? Well…not quite, the James Bond in question is of Undefeated fame, but that’s probably a better choice than having 007 working on your kicks. This latest installment of the James Bond for David Beckham x adidas Originals by Originals collection goes with the adidas ZX 800 done up in a nice suede/mesh combo. They keep it simple with this classic runner, releasing one black and white pair, with the other bringing in a deep shade of crimson to match with the glowing white mesh. Take a full look at both pairs after the jump, and cop your pair now from SNS.

To this point, the James Bond for David Beckham x adidas Originals by Originals collection has been typified by lifestyle-oriented redesigns of Three Stripes classics. In this preview of two models slated to release in the first half of 2012, we see that Becks and Bond can cross over into performance footwear as well, one model each representing cutting edge and old school running. On the fresh side of things is a new adidas Climacool runner in black and orange, and perhaps that’s a misleading lead-in because the classy/ic ZX 800 DBs they have in store are quite fresh in their own way. Let us know if you’d pick the new ones or the older design and stick with Sneaker News for more previews and US release dates. via EUKicks
