adidas Originals has plenty of sneakers to go with the upcoming Brazil World Cup. Gearing up for that event is their new “Battle Pack” shown here, which features classic silhouettes like the adidas Samba, the adidas Stan Smith, the adidas Superstar 80s, and the adidas ZX 5000 Response. They don’t get all dressed up with country colors, but you can see the flavor show up in the details like that Leo Messi tongue tag (Not to mention that each has a corresponding soccer boot). The adidas ZX running series is right up there with the best multi year lines from any sport, ever. The proof is in the pudding with plenty of these styles still moving units some twenty years after their debuts, and now we have a new style that seeks to distill their essence into one attractive package. The adidas Originals ZX 5000 RSPN 80/90/00 borrows some of the original ZX5000‘s tooling, but the upper is quite different and lacks any semblance of an external heel counter. That said, the new upper does very nicely at refreshing (or ‘Respawn’ing as the case may be, given the name) a golden era silhouette with modern construction and color blending.
