Tomorrow, Jordan Brand will celebrate Black History Month with its debut of the Air Jordan 1, the Jordan Melo M9, and the Jordan Spiz’ike in set inspired by the borough of Brooklyn. Melo, Jordan, and Spike Lee were all born out of that borough, and so the colorway follows the visuals of graffiti, the subway, and the Brooklyn flag. The Air Jordan 1 and the Jordan Melo M9 also feature a dope reflective upper graphic, adding even more of a visual punch to the most classic and most contemporary Jordan release. Next weekend Jordan Brand will release the Air Jordan 1 and Jordan Melo M9 ‘BHM’ capsule which circles around the colors and atmosphere of the Borough of Brooklyn. Featuring a grey, reflective upper with Volt and Photo Blue accents, this Air Jordan 1 certainly has a loud mix of colors that we haven’t seen since the Air Jordan 1 Doernbecher. Social Status is beginning to stock these now and you can certainly expect them to make them available next week, so check out these new photos below and let us know which Air Jordan 1 has a brighter colorway than the upcoming BHM!

The NBA began celebrated Black History Month on Sunday, January 20th when the league’s stars began wearing the special BHM colorways of their kicks. The Air Jordan 1 is more on the Sportswear side of things, but it’ll serve as the anchor of the Jordan Brand 2013 BHM Collection, which features the Spiz’ike and the Melo M9. The Air Jordan 1 ‘BHM’ will indeed release on February 9th alongside the two other members of the special capsule, so let us know if the AJ1 is the best of Jordan Brand’s BHM bunch and stay tuned for a release on the 9th.

Jordan Brand is joining in on the Black History Month celebration with more sneakers than ever before-prepping the Jordan Melo M9, the Air Jordan 1, and the Jordan Spiz’ike with a set of special colors for February. The sneakers convey a sort of ‘Made in Brooklyn’ theme, with Carmelo Anthony, Michael Jordan, and Spike Lee all paid tribute to across the three models (and in the insole of each).
