2012 was a huge year for sneaker customization as it finally got the spotlight customizers so desperately craved. A lot of that could be contributed to the creative thought process of combining multiple exotic leathers atop one model, as PMK Customs did with his Air Jordan 1 “Brooklyn Zoo”. Combining python, ostrich, stingray, elephant, crocodile, alligator and more materials, just ten of these custom Air Jordan 1s released at LeBron’s own UNKNWN in Miami. Jay-Z was quick to pick up a pair only adding to the buzz surrounding the release. With black, grey, and red all coming together to showcase the height of retooling a classic retro, we couldn’t think of a better name than Brooklyn Zoo considering all of the materials used, and they’re available for purchase today. Be sure to continue onward for more images of this legendary Air Jordan 1 custom and grab the pair via jonallon80 on eBay.

2012 was an incredibly great year for sneaker customizers, and if we had to choose one to stand above the rest, one strong candidate would definitely be the Air Jordan 1 “Brooklyn Zoo” put together by PMK Customs. Just ten pairs of these finely-crafted Air Jordan 1s released at UNKNWN in Miami, and of the limited amount of owners, two of ‘em have recognizable names – LeBron James and Jay-Z. Jay actually wore his pair a few times and was even spotted taking a picture of his own kicks while sitting courtside at a Nets game with Beyonce. Not only has a pair hit eBay, but this one features a super-limited Brooklyn Zoo wooden box made by GoodWood, and according to the seller, only three boxes were ever made. The Brooklyn Zoom customs might break records for this sneaker category in terms of selling price, so monitor this exciting auction buy tuning in to sneakeryetii on eBay.
