If you thought the Air Jordan 1 ‘BHM’ was wild then prepare to be even more blown away by the Air Jordan 1 ‘Year of the Snake’. The pair aligns the retro category with the yearly zodiac rotation once again following the 2012 hiatus. Interestingly enough there is none of the typical scaly treatment to be found. Instead the pair puts on an eype-popping colorway that mixes up a deep blue, bright citrus, and hyper red. The OG treatment (that would be the ‘Nike Air’ hit up front and the lack of a Jumpman on the back) is one that won’t be exclusive to OG colorways for the Air Jordan 1 High next year. Case in point is this pair, the Air Jordan 1 ‘Knicks’ that looks light it might even be a more specific Carmelo Anthony treatment what with the headband-sporting apple graphic printed on the insoles. Click through with Sneaker News to get a complete view of the Air Jordan 1 High ‘Melo’ and let us know in the comments if you’re planning to scoop up this NYC tribute pair in 2013.

The Air Jordan 1 has been busy during the holiday season and has even more in store for the coming year, particularly this shoe that started it all. This seed whose roots caused seismic shifts in the footwear and fashion industries grew into a Legacy and a Brand, and now the iconic Air Jordan 1 High comes to fruition in an original colorway sneakerheads have come to know and love as ‘the’ basketball palette. These are slated to kick off a new year, but you can bid now to get a pair well in advance of the retail release thanks to phukingsick on eBay.

Next Spring Jordan Brand will introduce an NCAA Pack of Air Jordan 1 Phat colorways representing several Jordan Brand-outfitted teams. The most recognizable of that select group is undoubtedly the UNC Tar Heels and their White/University Blue, and there’s reason why readers were excited for those AJ1 Phats because it’s a rehashing of this original Air Jordan 1 High. It would be sick of Jordan Brand hit us with these OGs next year considering a few AJ1s have already been confirmed, so check out this piece of OG Jordan history below and check out what the asking price is by visiting the listing from faceofffashon on eBay.

Among the impressive variety of upcoming colorways for the rejuvenated Air Jordan 1 is a slight twist on the classic Chicago Bulls look that manages to shift a familiar style from aggressive to luxurious with just one color. Toss some hunter green into any of MJ’s greatest sneaker hits and you’ve got a palette reminiscent of the famed Italian design house for whom the Air Jordan 1 High ‘Gucci’ borrows its nickname. Let us know if you think this color scheme looks good enough on the first Air Jordan to try it out on other Legacy silos and check out some new images as we approach the December 1st release date at Jordan Brand retailers like Politics.

No Nike Air? No problem. Jordan Brand’s coming through with an OG-inspired Jordan Brand box for at least the Air Jordan 1 Retro releases (and certainly for this Air Jordan 1 High). Of course, you wont find the daring red Nike/Swoosh logo that was on the original, but instead the equally-iconic Wings logo takes its place. We’ll keep you updated on other packaging ideas that Jordan Brand may have in store, so check out the new photos of the OG Air Jordan 1 High re-issue below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for all your Jordan updates and news.
