Devotees of the New York Knicks got a few sideways opportunities to match retros up with their team of choice in 2012, both the Air Jordan IV ‘Cavs’ and the Air Jordan IX ‘Fontay Montana’ offering up combos close to the Knickerbocker lookout without any official connection. 2013 will bring the Air Jordan 1 ‘Knicks’, a ‘Nike Air’ sporting pair that appears to be a more official tie-in thanks to the Melo referencing apple character on the insole. Check out the official images of this Air Jordan 1 colorway in our gallery below and mark your calender for the January 5th, 2013 release date.

The last time a an Air Jordan 1 showed up on Madison Square Garden, Michael Jordan was celebrating his last game at MSG as a Chicago. We covered that in one of our Was It The Shoes? features, but we might get a look at another AJ1 x MSG feature as we get another look at the Air Jordan 1 inspired by Carmelo Anthony. This Knicks colorway features a dope logo of the big apple with a headband – a clear nod to Melo’s on-court accessory of choice. We’ve got a detailed look at this Spring 2013 release so check it out and cop this sample early from oregonsole on eBay.
