The number of celebs that touched down in Las Vegas for the recent Project tradeshow has been well documented, with the sneaker savvy being especially drawn to the event considering all the juicy previews at hand on the floor. With that being said it seems like Fabolous would be one of the go-to guys to make it out there, and although he did skip it his sneakers still reflected the Las Vegas location via this slightly slept on Air Jordan 1 from the RTTG series. The ’92 Dream Team vs. 2012 USAB debate was pretty much settled on Monday night when the 2012 squad, despite coming out victorious, was given a rather hard time by the Brazil squad (even trailing by 10 points at on junction in the game). But regardless of how prideful the 2012 team members feel, they still pay homage to the Great One because Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant, two of Nike’s three top athletes, arrived in London wearing Air Jordans (KD in the Olympics, Kobe in the Air Jordan 1 ‘Vegas’). Although this isn’t the slightest bit a betrayal to Nike, make that three-of-three of Nike Basketball’s Big Three putting their own signature shoes aside in favor of classic Air Jordans (Durant was seen wearing the White/Cement IV during his stop at Barry Farm last Friday). Beginning July 6th, Team USA will embark on a hallowed ‘Road’ to the Olympic Games, where the NBA’s best players will represent the USA and defend its 2008 Gold Medal in Sydney. Jordan Brand will celebrate this heroic journey with an Olympic-inspired triumvirate of the earliest Air Jordans – two Air Jordan 1s and one Air Jordan 1 KO. Where will this ‘Road’ lead? To the Games, for sure, but to the Gold? Team USA is a clear-cut favorite, but the distance in competition has shortened considerably over the last decade, so this shouldn’t be just a walk in the park. The ‘Road to the Gold’ Pack has also been dubbed the ‘Road to the Games’, so we’ll keep you updated on the official title of this great set of footwear. Asian retailer Limited Edt has these available now, but expect these this Saturday at stateside Jordan Brand retailers.
