The shoe that started it all a quarter-century ago, the Air Jordan 1 has been quite busy of late. With OG colorways and even NIKE AIR branding on some and new colorways including a series of AJF-ish hybrids, the AJ1 is one of the most prolific silos of any kind to release from Beaverton over the past few months. Fitting, then, that this new Gorge and Electric Green mix looks like the kind of high-energy fare that’s become commonplace for the Swoosh’s own Oregon Ducks. Let us know how these compare to other recent drops after you’ve seen more shots below, then grab these at select Jordan Brand retailers like Premier.

All of a sudden the Air Jordan 1 output for 2013 is looking a lot more serious. A couple of Summer samples have just popped up that suggest we’ll be seeing this model get the retro treatment again and again as the year goes on. This latest one is of the Air Jordan 1 Mid variation, and picks up on matte silver and laser purple for its colors (along with a material set inline with the recently preview Air Jordan 1 ‘Grape’). Hit the jump for all the images and pick up this sample pair of Air Jordans right now from oregonsole on eBay.

The return of the Air Jordan V ‘Grape’ seems to have influenced a couple of other models to pick up on the same purple/green palette in 2013. There was that Air Jordan XIII and now there’s this, the Air Jordan 1 Retro Mid ‘Grape’ which gets pretty interesting with respect to all the materials used across the upper. And like that Air Jordan XIII, the pair also opts for bits of black to fill in the background in opposition to the typical ‘Grape’ flavor. Get a better look after the jump and pick up a pair of the Air Jordan 1 ‘Grape’ early from oregonsole on eBay.

Expect a ton of love all around from Jordan Brand around Valentine’s Day, with a handful of huge releases arriving on the eve of Michael Jordan’s 50th birthday. The Air Jordan 1 returns on February 16th in an original colorway featuring the classic ‘NIKE AIR’ branding on the same day that the Air Jordan XX8 makes its retail debut. The AJIII ’Joker’ also figures to make a big splash that day, and there are a couple of other drops whose theme suggests they’ll drop around the same time or a little earlier. This new Air Jordan 1 Mid Premium GS features the FTLOTG heart-sketball and pink/red construction featuring a lacy underlay and opalescent Swoosh. Look for these around the same time as the AJV GS Valentine, which is slated for next month without a concrete drop date. Check out more photos below, let us know which of the mid-February pairs tops your list and stick with Sneaker News for this pair’s release date.

If the Air Jordan 1 was released in this colorway, would Michael have been fined by the league for breaking team uniform policy? Can’t go wrong with all-white sneakers (in an era when all-white sneakers were the NBA norm), but Mike might not have even worn them since a White/Grey colorway was around during the AJ1′s original run. This snow-white pair of Mids comes with a unique textured leather on the upper – almost like a distressed animal skin – with a grey Air Jordan Wings logo on the upper. These are beginning to pop up at retailers overseas, so check out the gallery of images and we’ll give you an update regarding release information in the States.

As October rolls around you’ll get at least one more chance in 2012 at the Air Jordan 1 silhouette without any of the ‘phat’ upgrades. The model in question also comes with a bit of a backstory, its colorway immediately recognizable as borrowed from the upcoming Air Jordan IX ‘Johnny Kilroy’. Will the platinum palette extend its reach to even more releases as Jordan Brand continues to spin the tale of Jordan’s faux-retirement of ad campaign fame? Stay with Sneaker News for answers on that, but for the time being make sure you hit the jump for all the angles and drop us your thoughts on the Air Jordan 1 ‘Johnny Kilroy’ in the comments below.
