Last year was very much the year of red, white, and blue Air Jordan retros thanks to the Olympics, but it looks like 2013 just might have a few pairs in that category as well. Shown here is an upcoming Air Jordan 1 Phat pair that has a vague USA look to it, one that also opts for some elephant print touches towards the back end. In fact, that combo of red, white, and blue plus elephant has us thinking “True Blue” a la the Air Jordan III. The Air Jordan 1 is taking things pretty far back for 2013, with styles for that silhouette going all out with original colorways and even some rare ‘Nike Air’ branding. Of course, the Air Jordan 1 Phat will be doing at least one historical nod as well in the form of this white and university blue colorway. The university in question would be University of North Carolina, MJ’s alma mater where he showed such promise before his NBA hooping legacy was born. Continuing our preview of mid-top Air Jordan 1s is this Navy/Yellow colorway that takes after the Marquette Golden Eagles. The school has been outfitted by Jumpman for quite some time, making its superstar alumni Dwyane Wade the perfect successor to the Air Jordan – but we know how that boiled down. “Georgetown” Air Jordan 1 Phat

Last month, Nike opened up its newest retail spot in the DC area and featured a jaw-dropping showcase of the Air Jordan “Georgetown” Collection of Retros. None of those will likely release, although Jordan Brand did confirm this Hoyas colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Phat for Spring 2013. These will be worn as a pre-game footwear option for the players, but these are definitely an all-day designation (seriously, these will go with anything). A few more angles below, so give them a thorough look because these are the closest thing to a ‘Georgetown’ colorway you’ll get in the near future!
