Many overlook at Air Jordan 1 simply because it’s been re-issued in a sea of colorways over the years, but in 2013, it managed to steal a ton of the spotlight with the ‘Bulls’, ‘Royal’, ‘Knicks’, and several other releases. It continues in March with a hybrid-like spin, mixing the original model with some hints from the Air Jordan XIII (thus the ’97). The White/Black-Gym Red colorway will drop alongside the Air Jordan XIII of the same ‘He Got Game’ moniker in March, with the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 arriving during the first weekend. The Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 TXT apparently has a couple different colorways that will tie in to the upcoming Air Jordan XIII ‘Squadron Blue’. This pair is the one that will do so more thoroughly, with the base up top sporting said color. After that there’s plenty of electric yellow running along the laces and the outsole on bottom. Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls didn’t make much noise when they reached the Playoffs in 1985 (besides a mere 63-point game by the great one), but the story of the XIII is much different. In fact, when MJ wore the Air Jordan XIII, the Bulls won an NBA Title! Following up the ‘He Got Game’ colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 is this another mock-up based on an original colorway – the popular ‘Playoffs’ that hit stores early in 2011. It features a tonal black leather upper with the clear AJ13 cues on the upper dimpled panel, the holographic Jordan Wings logo, the Jumpman on the tongue, and the JORDAN flap at the base of the laces.
