The Pistons and Lakers ‘Rivalry’ Mids just released and the upcoming VIII has been proven a ‘Knicks’ and not a ‘Suns’ colorway all over the past 24 hours. Let’s take this opportunity to look closely at the last of the NBA-inspired Jordan Retros currently on the horizon, the ‘Celtics’ Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG. The ‘OG’ in this sense is a designation given by Jordan Brand referencing not this colorway’s 1985 heritage, but rather the original ‘Nike Air’ branding from that first run of 1s. These hit retailers worldwide next Saturday, April 6th, so click through to get a closer look at the Boston Garden-tribute parquet floor texture and stick with Sneaker News for the latest.

Joining the flurry of recent Air Jordan 1 Retro activity is a new colorway coming up echoing the colors from a soon-to-release Air Jordan III. This ‘Joker’ Jordan 1 has an upper that’s half black leather, half purple suede atop a lavender midsole, which eliminates the slight #XX8DaysOfFlight lean from by those Threes. These wouldn’t at first glance appear to be a candidate for OG-style ‘NIKE AIR’ branding, but then again, we wouldn’t have necessarily expected the SVSM edition before images surfaced over the weekend. Stick with Sneaker News for updates including US release information and let us know how these compare to the rest of the pending AJ1s and the ‘other’ Joker.

Capping off our morning of ‘Black History Month’ previews is the Air Jordan 1 ‘BHM’. The pair is oozing with crazy details that should make it a coveted pick up come February 2013. The upper is all reflective with a speckled print layered over the top. The outsole is an icy one and the insole pays homage to Michael Jordan, Spike Lee, and Carmelo Anthony. And of course the customary ‘BHM’ branding shows up on the tongue tags of this very special Air Jordan 1 Retro High release. Continue reading to check out all the angles and then check out the price on this Air Jordan 1 ‘BHM’ early pair right now from ny_5thavenue on eBay.

The OG treatment for a subsection of next year’s Air Jordan 1 retros is one that extends beyond the ‘Nike Air’ placement on the tongue tab. On the pairs carrying the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG designation the box will also aim to recreat the original. On those pairs the black and red packaging will come with the Nike and Swoosh logo, where the straight up Air Jordan 1 Retro High pairs will come with a similar box featuring the Air Jordan Wings logo instead. Continue reading to get a look at each and tell us in the comments which of these boxes you prefer.

Sneaker News started the week off with a bang by showcasing the retros on tap from Jordan Brand for SS13, but you don’t have to wait until January’s ‘Nike Air’-tagged edition to get in on the model that started it all. Coming up next month is a new Air Jordan 1 High Retro that opts for a USA-ish colorup featuring the legendary Elephant print on red heel and toe sections. The use of Elephant, nubuck and plain leather along with a contrast stitch on the Swoosh gives this simple colorup an added punch, which they’ll most certainly need during JB’s most prolific holiday season yet. There are a ton of AJ1s (both Retro Highs and Phat Mids) on tap between here and next summer, so have a closer look at these before you let us know where they rank and stick with Sneaker News as we approach the November 10th drop.

The ‘Black History Month’ collection has come to be a yearly tradition at this point, cranking out black based kicks that pay homage to the history of the African diaspora. Next year the lineup will be back, with a few interesting additions to boot. The Nike LeBron X, Nike Zoom KD V, and Nike Zoom Kobe VIII will be there, along with a strong Air Jordan showing featuring the Spiz’ike, Air Jordan 1, and Jordan Melo M9. Rounding out the group are a couple non-traditional models- the Nike WMNS Dunk Sky High, the Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite, and an all new model called the Nike Lunar Force 1 Fuse. Stick with Sneaker News to get the images and let us know in the comments which BHM sneaker you’re looking forward to the most.

Jordan Brand has been on a nice run of late with recent Olympic, ‘Bordeaux’ and ‘Johnny Kilroy’ drops as well as the upcoming 2013 OG Air Jordan 1s, and today we add a new girls colorway to the list. The Air Jordan 1 Retro High Premier GS is a pleasant surprise as we approach cold weather, sporting a fuzzy pink sockliner to match the laces of an otherwise Sacramento Kings-ish colorup. These go a step further by adding a unique marbled/tie-dye texture to the purple underlay sections for a look that might earn triple-takes as people realize they’re looking at a feminized-and-winterized AJ1. Get ready to break necks in one of the most unique Air Jordans for girls we’ve seen all year and stick with Sneaker News for US release info.
