While Jordan Brand is definitely going in on the Air Jordan 1 and bringing back the original colorways for that groundbreaking first signature sneaker for MJ, the colorway range for the 1 is so deep that we’d imagine it’s gonna be a long time before all the originals see the light of day once again. One that doesn’t appear to be on the schedule in the near future is the clean black and white version on display here that skips out on the full Bulls equation thanks to the lack of red. You thought Jordan Brand’s Black History Month Collection for 2013 was all wrapped? Think again: Jordan Brand has teamed up with trendy designer Don C to collaborate on a pair of the Air Jordan 1 and a Jordan snapback to celebrate the 37th Anniversary of Black History Month. Don C, who is best known for his unique treatments to sporty snapback hats, gives his spin on the Air Jordan 1 by implementing a traditional graphic on the upper, using a bright orange for the inner lining, and displaying his flair for the reptilian on the ankle strap. The snapback hat shows off Don C’s signature moves with the material used on the bill of the hat. Again, just thirty seven sets (the shoes at the hat) are available and up for auction, with all proceeds going directly to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Of America charity. 2013 has been pretty generous so far as far as bringing back original Air Jordan 1 colorways. What else will join the ranks of the two that have come out over the past couple of months? Many overlook at Air Jordan 1 simply because it’s been re-issued in a sea of colorways over the years, but in 2013, it managed to steal a ton of the spotlight with the ‘Bulls’, ‘Royal’, ‘Knicks’, and several other releases. It continues in March with a hybrid-like spin, mixing the original model with some hints from the Air Jordan XIII (thus the ’97). The White/Black-Gym Red colorway will drop alongside the Air Jordan XIII of the same ‘He Got Game’ moniker in March, with the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’97 arriving during the first weekend.
