It would’ve been wise to keep your ear to Sneaker News during the past couple of days, because we dropped some Air Jordan news that had the sneaker world buzzing about some of the most highly anticipated sneakers of 2011 and 2012. The majority of the topics circled around Air Jordan Retros and variant samples (nubuck on the Air Jordan III, grey speckling on the Air Jordan IV, a white midsole on the Air Jordan X), so if change isn’t your thing, then it might take a little getting used to for the Air Jordan 2.0. Combining the Air Jordan II and a basketball-specific full-length Max Air unit, the Air Jordan 2.0 is an old-meets-new concept that may not be welcome around Air Jordan Retro circles, but in this sweet new colorway of Black, Classic Green, Varsity Red, and White, it’s tough to say no. Check out these new detailed images of this upcoming release and stick with Sneaker News for more information as it develops. via RMK.

One Air Jordan 2.0 down, at least two more to go. The full-length Max Air-cushioned update to Michael Jordan’s second Nike signature sneaker will hit retailers soon in this vaguely Gucci-style colorway. It comes off quite a bit differently than the Elephant printed grey/gold joints, but like those, the top upper section is also composed of nubuck. That’s something we’ve seen in a couple sets of preview images, but it’s particularly notable in this latest round, thanks to the way that velvety material contrasts against the smooth and reptile-textured leather by which its surrounded. In both of the Air Jordan 2.0 colorways we’ve previewed after the initial colorway, over half of the images have depicted grade school sizes. This might have been an issue in days gone by, but in a time when even kids get full-length cageless Max Air cushioning, they serve as an accurate representation of what to expect from the mens retail release. The only difference between this Air Jordan 2.0 and the version you’ll be able to buy soon is that the mens’ edition features three eyelets above the signature ‘wing’, whereas the GS joints only have two. Take that into consideration when you examine a new crop of images after the jump, and if you can fit into a pair, Kicks-lab has US Y sizes 5.5-7.5 available early.

Recall the first time we showed you the Air Jordan 2.0, and it’s likely that you stared at your computer screen with a quizzical look. A 360 Max-Air cushioned Air Jordan hybrid shoe took some getting used to, but a look at this upcoming Black/Red/Green colorway should have you completely sold. Not only is the colorway fiercely on point (a Rasta-like combination reminiscent of the OG colorway of the Spiz’ike), the materials used on this colorway are more than impressive, as the nubuck upper is paired with a faux-croc skin section with distressed leather on the toe mudguard. The question is, how would this colorway, along with the materials, look on an Air Jordan II Retro? Check out these new detailed images after the jump and let us know what you think. via kickslab.

How do you feel about Jordan Brand updating the Air Jordan Legacy models? By definition, a purist is going to have a contrarian view when it comes to anything newfangled or revamped, but the latest example is considerably closer to its source than your average hybrid. In fact, the Air Jordan 2.0 adding a full-length Max Air cushion to a model that debuted in 1986 is so natural that plenty have voiced their excitement in advance of this weekend’s initial release. The AJ2.0 is set for retail in the ‘Quarterfinals’ colorway that saw a retro release last spring and you can see a round of new images when you click on the jump below. They’re going to be in stores like Extra Butter tomorrow, May 28th but you can already find pairs available on eBay.

Yet more Air Jordan 2.0 goodness this week as today we have our best look yet at the colorway revealed here on Sneaker News earlier this week. The AJ 2.0 demands attention in this black nubuck and textured leather getup, the red, green and white accents evoking images of the initial Air Jordan Spiz’ike colorway that hit retailers in early ’07. The AJII could be considered the first ‘bookend’ to the Spizike’s design elements, so it’s almost poetic to see this palette reproduced on an upgraded version. Click through to see some additional angles and if you’d like to grab a pair before they hit retail, consider contacting MarqueeSole.
