The Air Jordan 2011 has been received more warmly by the sneakerhead contingent and public at large than either of its two year-numbered predecessors. There are a number of elements in play here, including the elegant and innovative design, the dynamic ‘Quick/Explosive’ interchangeable insoles and the one that might be the single biggest factor: quite a run of impressive colorways. It all started with an All-Star weekend debut in four different palettes to satisfy a variety of tastes, has picked up steam with the ‘Blackout’, Electric Green and Jordan Brand Classic PE colorups and now we have the epitome of a perfect summertime look in the ‘Orion Blue’ Air Jordan 2011.
On paper, their design is essentially the same as the JB Classic exclusives but it’s striking how differently they end up thanks to white on the tongue, eyelet and ankle areas, plus Orion Blue laces to match the mesh tongue and that same color on the translucent outsole. It’s also worth noting that the ‘mudguard’ panel appears to be done in a slightly lighter shade than the Jordan Brand Classic pair, a detail that will likely be clarified when color and style information is available in the coming days/weeks. Click through to get a better view, let us know if you think these are the best Air Jordan 2011 colorway so far and if that’s how you feel, grab one of the few pairs already available at Marquee Sole.

Yesterday Sneaker News showed you the East and West PE colorways for the Air Jordan 2011 made for the participants in the Jordan Brand Classic. The annual event features the nation’s top High-School level players who are destined for Division-1 play at the collegiate level as well as the professional level in the NBA. Last year, Sneaker News gave you a look at the Air Jordan 2010 PEs from that game, which many claimed to have been one of the best AJ2010 colorways of the year. Unfortunately those did not release, but that isn’t the case for the Air Jordan 2011, as both will hit House of Hoops locations next Thursday, April 14th, with a $170 price tag. Check out these new detailed images below and stick with Sneaker News for more updates regarding the Jordan Brand Classic and the Air Jordan 2011 PE.

The Air Jordan 2011 is a swift turnaround for Jordan Brand, which, despite the impressive construction and conceptualization of the Air Jordan 2009 and 2010, needed a jolt of energy. The AJ2011 provided just that, as it features a decidedly simpler silhouette paired with astounding colorways that served both on-court purposes and street-wear capabilities. Yesterday’s East and West colorways of the Air Jordan 2011 Jordan Brand Classic PE were definite eye-catchers, but it’s the Electric Green colorway from earlier this week that might be the Air Jordan topic of the week; the upper features a grey mudguard with a slight tinge of green, with electric green accents splashed around the entire shoe. A release date hasn’t been set just yet, but should release in the near future. Check out the new detailed images below and stick with Sneaker News for more updates on the Air Jordan 2011. via air-randy.

‘Grey Toe’ 2011s? It was an Air Jordan XIII Retro that brought us that nickname in 2005, a colorway made famous by Jason Kidd as a member of the New Jersey Nets during the first year of their Vince Carter era. And since Dwyane Wade will be moving on to his first Jordan Brand signature shortly, this new Air Jordan 2011 might not ever have a superstar name attached, but that certainly won’t deter fans from copping one of the best AJ2011 colorways yet. These joints rank high on the list in terms of casual wearability thanks to a relatively neutral look that adds a ferocious red bite sure to draw plenty of double takes. We’ve yet to confirm a drop date on the grey/red Air Jordan 2011 so click through for a batch of new images and stick with Sneaker News for updates on their release. via Taobao

Dwyane Wade doesn’t really need to usurp King James’ throne. He is, after all, the one of those two who already has an NBA Championship ring, but it looks like that won’t stop Jordan Brand from attempting a Coup on one of LeBron’s signature colorways. Check out the Air Jordan 2011 in a Dunkman-esque palette, one that might arguably be the finest AJ2011 to date. These joints mix a tonal grey mudguard with black on the nubuck eyelets, tongue and heel along with the midsole, all of which is sandwiched in between Electric Green accents including a translucent outsole. And just like the Dunkman LeBrons, it’s slighty unfortunate we’ll never see these on an NBA court, though that means the double take factor in the streets will be accordingly multiplied. Click through to get a better look and if you’re fotunate enough to wear US mens sizes 9-10.5, head over to Marquee Sole to grab a pair early,

Jordan Brand has been showing tons of love to NYC now that Carmelo Anthony is back home playing for the Knicks, but this should come as no surprise given how well they’ve supported Melo’s alma mater. Check out the latest in a long line of Oak Hill Academy player exclusive sneakers, the Air Jordan 2011 in a white, red and yellow colorway that’d make Dwayne Wade jealous. These colors aren’t kept to the sole as with D-Wade’s PEs, but instead we see a two-toned mudguard that draws extra attention to the special tongue logos. The left is Oak Hill’s Warrior mascot and the right is the NHSI national championship insignia, the game where, ironically enough, Oak Hill lost to Kevin Durant’s Montrose Christian school on Saturday. It’ll be interesting to see if we get a special KDIII in commemoration of the chip; will they be able to hold a candle to the Oak Hill Air Jordan 2011? via Paul Biancardi
