The California Golden Bears take on another gold and blue team Saturday in the finals of the DirecTV Classic. Along with their roughly inverted proportions of these colors, one factor that will help distinguish these squads is their sneaker suppliers, where the Berkeley squad has one of the few direct links to Michael Jordan’s namesake brand. And Cal’s Jordan Brand player exclusives are up to par with each of the schools we’ve seen so far, the Bears getting both home and away Air Jordan 2012 Lites along with a similar pairing of Aero Flights. No Super.Fly PEs like Georgetown and Marquette, so which institution got the best mix of personalized looks for the 2012-13 season? Sneaker News will keep you up to date with all the latest NCAA and NBA on-court sightings and you can see more of the pairs pictured above right now after the jump.

Michael Jordan made his collegiate breakthrough at their expense, and other than preventing three of the school’s famed big men from any championships during his Chicago reign, Mike’s been quite generous to Georgetown University. Dating back as far as the school’s Nike days when Allen Iverson famously rocked the ‘Concord’ Air Jordan XI, the Hoyas have been associated with the Jumpman, and this year’s player exclusives are a perfect match for the GU’s classy yet always potentially graphically intensive on-court presentation. They’ve got quite the range of options, all with their own take on Jordan Brand‘s traditionally elegant approach, with the Jordan Super.Fly and Aero Flight opting for radically different grey bases, while the Air Jordan 2012 Lite has a ‘home’ appeal thanks to the white base layer. Have a closer look at how the iconic ‘G’ is worked in to each pair in detailed images below and stick with Sneaker News for more 2012-13 NCAA PE sneakers.

The Air Jordan 2012 Lite is appearing less like a high-performance shoe and more like a high-performance race-car with the slick geometric graphics seen in these Holiday 2012 releases. First seen in last month’s October 2012 update, the Air Jordan 2012 Lite receives an immense visual upgrade with the unique shattered-glass pattern, and Jordan Brand will continue that motif with these three new November colorways of Stealth, Anthracite, and Speed Yellow. Each will be priced at $150 and will be available at Jordan Brand retailers in a few short weeks.

Generally when we get a group of celebs all sporting sneakers they’re not actually putting them to work in the the athletic sense, instead cooling on the red carpet or rocking the stage. The case of the recent LudaDay Weekend event was a bit different, with celebs flocking to the spot for the charity basketball game that capped off the festivities. Some bona fide ballers were in the building including Kenyon Martin and Shannon Brown, a group offset by the likes of Big Tigger with some 3M equipped Air Jordan XIII’s, Mase who traded his shiny suit for some shiny sneakers in the form of the Air Jordan 20120 Lite (Kevin Hart came through with the same), and of course host Ludacris in what appears to be the black carbon fiber version of the Jordan 6 Rings. Click through to see these and more from the LudaDay Weekend and give us your thoughts on the sneaker sightings in the comments below.
