Tinker Hatfield’s personal rendition of the Air Jordan 2012 was the Deluxe Black/White colorway, drawing inspiration from his original sketches of the 2012, but anything ‘Michael Jordan’ has got to be the classic Black/Red. There’s no doubt that that ‘Bred’ styling of each model is the best of the bunch, so as we get another look at the Air Jordan 2012 in the familiar colorway, we get to see the shoe in its finest form. The trending ‘Bred’ term has been tied with two other major Air Jordan Retro releases in the Air Jordan IV and Air Jordan XI, but you can kick off the year’s ‘Bred’ offerings by slipping your feet in the Air Jordan 2012, which was first previewed back on February 7th. The historic Black/Red color-combo has been considered the ‘flagship’ colorway, but as we know, the Air Jordan 2012 kicked things off in off-center style with the colorful Year of the Dragon, Wolf Grey, and UNC colorways, but for those who prefer the classic Chicago Bulls get-up, your wait is about get much shorter. Following a similar trend set up by the Air Jordan 2011 and its respective A and Q versions, the Air Jordan 2012 looks to be getting at least one sidekick for the Holiday 2012 season. The model previewed is the Air Jordan 2012 Lite EV, an overall stripped down version of the latest flagship silhouette that sees the wingtip design cut in favor of a lightweight Flywire setup on the upper. The Air Jordan 2012 first took the College Basketball court when the North Carolina Tar Heels and Georgetown Hoyas debuted the Air Jordan 2012 on the night of February 8th, 2012. For the upcoming NCAA March Madness Tournament, we will see a new set of Air Jordan 2012 Player Exclusive colorways for the North Carolina, California, and Marquette – three Jordan Brand outfitted schools that will certainly have the eye on the National Championship prize. Each of the PE colorways feature the school’s colors mixed perfectly on white leather-based uppers. Georgetown will also wear a Grey/Navy PE of the Air Jordan 2012 (not pictured) as well. Tinker Hatfield has the uncanny ability of not only finding inspiration from the unlikeliest sources, but transferring the appeal onto a sneaker. For the Air Jordan 2012, Tinker drew inspiration from the classic zoot suit and the jazz era to create one of the more luxurious Air Jordan designs ever seen. For his own special rendition of the Air Jordan 2012, Tinker adapted the slick black/white colorway with a special dragon detailing on the medial wall (signifying his own Year of the Dragon zodiac affiliation) with a special ‘TH’ logo as well. Jordan Brand has come through with a bit of background info on the upcoming ‘Tinker Hatfield’ version of the Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe. The luxurious black and white colorway is apparently a nod to Hatfield’s original inspiration for the overall design of the sneaker-the Jazz era and accompanying zoot-suit garments. The dragon hit on the back is also clarified, as Tinker himself was born in the year of the dragon.
