Sneakerheads in Japan have to be stoked about the sudden “restock” of the Air Jordan III Retro ’88 this Saturday, because if that sick “Carmine VI” spotting on Ichiro’s feet was any indication, our pals from the Far East are as excited about Jays as we are. We recently reported a re-release in Asia, so we’re hitting our readers from afar with a reminder today because of the time difference. These are indeed scheduled to drop on March 23rd at 11:00 AM in the local time at Nike Harajuku (they are thirteen hours ahead of our EST). but if you’re still searching for a pair, plenty are to be had on eBay.

Has anyone received their Air Jordan “XX8 Days of Flight” pairs from that epic Instagram contest just yet? It looks like Mache got sick of wondering whether or not he won and decided to whip up his own version of the sneaker. The transition appears to be a pretty easy one, as the Air Jordan III ‘Joker’ gets dipped in a deeper level of blacks to link up with that series of Air Jordan one-offs. This is truly the golden era of sneaker releases, with footwear brands focusing on imagination and storytelling on top of design to accentuate their releases. There are, of course, a number of dream situations that we’d all love to see, and some of them have come true; the Air Jordan III Retro ’88 and the Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’ are two great examples because they broadened the possibilities for both models, giving us even more reason expect stretched limits in terms of creativity. With that said, we’re starting a new “What Do You Think?” feature on Sneaker News in which we ask you, our readers, for your thoughts on some interesting sneaker concepts that not only make sense, but have potential of releasing in the future.
With the Retro category being the dominant force in the sneaker game, footwear brands have done quite well when resourcefully reintroducing its most iconic and revolutionary designs. Nike’s recent ‘OG’ releases of their original Air Max models is, ironically, a fresh way to put the shoes back on the shelves, with the pre-yellowed midsoles and other aged qualities being the focus on these bringbacks. Our question to you is: What do you think of an Air Jordan Retro VNTG release? We know Jordan Brand jumped the hurdle in regards to bringing back ‘Nike Air’, but an Air Jordan III with pre-yellowed midsoles and back-tabs or a pair of Air Jordan Vs with the right tint on the once-icy outsole and netting might turn a few heads, and who knows how much longer Jordan Brand can re-release the same Retros again and again? One of Michael Jordan’s greatest off-the-court achievements was building up his name as a brand and participating in ad campaigns for some of the most recognized products in the world. We’ve seen Jordan vouch for Coca Cola, Mickey D’s, Ballpark hot-dogs, and for those not about that bacon-neck life, Hanes. These vintage poster ads of Michael are especially dope since they feature OG Air Jordans in the ads, namely the three shoes that featured ‘Nike Air’ somewhere on the upper of the shoes. It’s too bad that Terrell Owens didn’t last long on the Seahawks roster, because we would’ve definitely seen a nice variety of colorways of Air Jordans like this Air Jordan III. It features a Black/Electric Green combination that sorta falls in like with the recently released Air Jordan III ‘Joker’ or even the entire Air Jordan ‘Black/Neon’ Collection, but this might’ve been the tip of the iceberg with PEs considering the Seattle Seahawks are a bit of a test guinea pig for Nike to test out outrageous colors and what not.
