If you’ve been keeping up with Jordan Brand’s build up to the Air Jordan XX8, then you’re well aware that today is the day for the Air Jordan III to shine in the ‘Black/Neon Green’ Air Jordan collection. And shine it does, as this colorway ends up particularly luxurious thanks to the smooth black leather treatment wrapping the upper. We’ve seen blacked out Air Jordan III’s before (think ‘Black Cat’) but never with this level of premium leather utilized. The neon green sections keep things in line with the other sneakers in the series-showing up for the lining and the outsole. Colts superstar Dwight Freeney has been rocking Jays on the line of scrimmage for years – but have we seen a pair of PEs built like this? The Air Jordan III upper is a rather familiar visual as the same colorway was used for a pair of Freeney exclusives, but the sole has been swapped for a much more aggressive and supportive Turf base, giving Freeney’s incredibly physical frame as much support as he’s needed. If you’re new to the Air Jordan game, you probably have a whole lot of catching up to do. With nearly every original Air Jordan already gone through the Retro cycle (with a few making several comebacks), the available options to build your Air Jordan collection could keep you busy for months – or you can cop this sick 97-pair collection in one fell swoop. This particular lot includes only the Air Jordan 1 through Air Jordan XIII in sizes 10.5-11.0, but nearly every pair brand spankin’ new and there’s some serious heat in here (’94 Retros, Eminem IIs, the original DMP, etc.). The asking price, however, is at $45,000, which boils down to $463.92 per pair, but the comfort of completing a sick library of Air Jordans in just one click might be too tempting if you have that sort of dough to spare (free shipping, though). Russell Westbrook’s Jordan Brand perks continue to get sweeter with the Air Jordan III ‘Thunder’ pair pictured here. Westbrook is currently wearing the sneakers on-court against Oklahoma City’s away game against the Lakers. The base is a relatively familiar looking ‘Black/Cement’ with plenty of orange and blue sprinkled in between the sole, lining, and accents. One of the major developments in the sneaker world this season was the confirmed return of the Air Jordan III with ‘Nike Air’ on the heel. Considering the White/Cements last saw the light of day in this form back in 1994, the reaction to this news was, for the most part, positive. However, this latest bit of information might be a thorn on the side, as the retail price for the Air Jordan III with Nike Air will be set at $200 – a whopping $40 jump from the MSRP of the 2011 Retro version. Curren$y’s “Jet Life” mantra has already been done in sneaker form thanks to the sick Nike Blazers done by JBF some time ago, but the popular tag-line is due for a revival thanks to this great pair of Air Jordan III customs done by El Cappy. Using a nice purple/cream white colorway, El Cappy transforms this Air Jordan III by adding a jet logo on the heel with some unique graphics on the elephant print upper, and hits the midsole with two tones of grey. The Air Jordan III is making some unexpected noise this Spring 2013 season, isn’t it? A sneaker that just went through a healthy Retro cycle in 2011 was thought to be put to temporary rest, but this Spring 2013 is looking rather exciting thanks to the Nike Air revival and the ‘Joker’ and ‘Crimson’ joints. A confirmed release date for the Air Jordan III ‘Joker’ has been established for February 16th, so let us know if these mid-February releases are a must-have amidst all the heat that is slated to drop that month and peep the new photos courtesy of thehardwood on eBay.
