Aside from Swizz Beatz and a select few others with exclusive contracts, rappers can be seen sporting as many sneaker brands as guest MCs on their albums. Just because you’re collaborating with Jay-Z doesn’t mean you gotta give 50 Cent the silent treatment, and switching back and forth between footwear choices is even easier. Just ask Kendrick Lamar, the up and coming young artist we just showed you giving props to adidas Originals’ new boots, who’s seen here repping Jordan Brand and their big release for Black Friday 2011: the Air Jordan III Retro ‘Black Cement’. Lamar got his at least a week early as these images from last Friday’s soldout show at LA’s Music Box prove; will you make the necessary preparations to ensure you get a pair of Black Cements before they run out of stock?

News around the US suggests retailers will be opening earlier than ever before to make sure Black Friday results in a full 24 hours of holiday shopping frenzy. Key among the values available that day will be a shoe so good it’s a bargain at any price, the Air Jordan III Retro ‘Black Cement’. Debuted in 1988 and retroed a few times in the interim, the Black Cement AJ3s were second only to the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’ in terms of OG colorways according to our readers, 1 and 1a now serving as bookends to the most heavily stocked holiday season on record. Of course, Thanksgiving is an American tradition, so the day after means far less to most other countries and so Asian retailers like mita sneakers have already gotten theirs ready to sell. Click through for a series of new photos and let us know if you’ve already gotten your pair, or whether you plan to line up to make sure you secure one.

SBTG’s ‘Deer Valley Titans’ customs are among the sickest handcrafted kicks of the entire year, but despite their brilliance, they’ll still be entirely overshadowed by the Air Jordan III Retro ‘Black Cement’ for the rest of the year. That’s because this OG colorway’s Black Friday release date has them poised to be the most in-demand sneaker for the holiday season until the ‘Concord’ Air Jordan XI Retro drops just before Christmas, and if you recall, Sneaker News readers voted these your two favorite original Air Jordan Legacy colorways earlier this year. And that passion will surely spill over into the extra hustle it takes to acquire a model this desired months before the official release date, so if you simply cannot wait, check out the limited stock currently available from Kicks-lab.

We stand just on the other side of the midway point of 2011 and it’s clear that the biggest Air Jordan III release coming later this year is the ‘Stealth’ edition in tonal grey with bred accents. What’s that you say? The ‘Black Cement’ AJ3 is clearly the most significant of the two remaining colorways? You’re probably right but the ‘Stealth’ clearly beats the 1988-born OGs in terms of novelty, as the Black Cements have released twice before during this short century alone — people simply cannot get enough of this shoe. 2000′s release is notable as the last with ‘NIKE AIR’ on the heels, an insignia replaced by the Jumpman for this year’s along with the 2008 CDP version. We have a variety of images after the jump so you can play ‘I Spy’ among the various tiny differences (note the complete absence of nubuck), so click through and let us know which pair was your favorite, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for updates on this Black Friday release. via mjo23dan

Can the Air Jordan III ‘Black Cement’ beat the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’? Sneaker News readers said ‘no’ during our March Madness OG Air Jordan Tournament this spring, but we’ll get a chance to see how this battle plays out in real life as both legendary originals are released during what’s shaping up to be the biggest holiday season for sneakers ever. The ‘Black Cement’ AJ3 is one of those shoes you simply cannot go wrong wearing, and their November drop means it’s possible some will have to find work as elves after their release to be able to grab the Concords as well. It’ll be interesting to see which segments of the sneakerhead community gravitate toward each, but one thing that we can pretty much guarantee is a swift sell out. Retailers like RMK have started taking pre-orders, so click through to see what you’re waiting for and stick with Sneaker News for the 2011 Air Jordan 3 ‘Black Cement’ release date.

Could 2011 be the first year in recent memory where the Air Jordan XI’s holiday release is overshadowed by another sneaker?! Depending on how you look at it, there’s no usurping the Eleven’s deathlock on the Christmas holiday, but when considering the (tentative) Black Friday release date for the ‘Black Cement’ Air Jordan III Retro, there’s some real uncertainty as to which model will get the most attention during that crucial four-week shopping bonanza. And these Threes are most certainly going to sell out before the ‘Concord’ AJ11 drops about a month later; could it happen the very day of their debut? Only time will tell, but you can avoid the inevitable madness by locking up a pair early from Kicks-lab.

Yep, it’s official, the Air Jordan III Black Cement will see the light of day again in 2011. So there’s no “Nike Air” on the back of these, but that’s a moot point, the quality is on par with the other Air Jordan III retros we’ve seen these year and the mere sight of this long awaited retro has forum posters and sneakerheads hollering “robocop”. These have a rumored Black Friday release date, and the months in between are likely to creep by as we all wait to get our hands on this one. Fortunately, there is hope for you if you can’t stand waiting, as there are a handful of pairs waiting to be had right now on eBay. Hit the jump for more photos of the 2011 version of the Air Jordan III Black Cement and then place your bid on pair from air-randy on eBay.

Few sample sneakers have produced the same kind of outcry as the Air Jordan III Retro that recently popped up in the OG ‘Black Cement’ colorway from 1988. In those images in question, the colorblocking and appearance from a distance is identical to the original, but instead of the classic mix of smooth leather mudguard/tumbled upper, they were crafted entirely in nubuck. This had purists and newcomers alike up in arms, complaining that while a revised Three is better than no Three at all, we simply want our retros to be as close as possible to their forebears. So breathe a collective sigh of release, sneakerheads, for the Air Jordan 3 will indeed hit retailers later this year in its initial makeup, the only significant difference being the heel Jumpman that separate the pre-2000 pairs from more recent drops. Click through to see more angles of the only model that could possibly push the AJXI from its perch atop the holiday sneaker sales charts and hit up MarqueeSole to check out their limited size run available now.
