Sneaker News just showed you images of an upcoming Air Jordan III with an unprecedented denim upper along with another with more suede than any other pair in history, but don’t forget about the equally nontraditional Threes that are coming up even sooner. The Air Jordan III Retro ‘Black Flip’ is a darker take on the 2007 white pair that added Elephant Print everywhere it wasn’t on the OG colorways, this latest edition drawing comparisons to the Black History Month AJ3s from earlier this year thanks to a bronze eyelets similar to the gold accents typical to BHM drops. And with the BHMs in addition to 3 OGs and a few new AJ3s in 2011, where do the leather-lined ‘Black Flips’ rank on your list? Some new images after the jump will aide in your decision, so be sure to stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via in52

A new Nike SB V-Rod just got the black-on-black Elephant print treatment, but that model is destined to be a mere footnote when historians document the footwear year that was 2011. But there’s no shame in playing second fiddle to one of the all-time greats, and the Michael to those Vulc Rods’ Scottie is, of course, the upcoming Air Jordan III Retro in a dope new ‘Black Flip’ motif. These apply a wholly dark take on the 2007 ‘Flip’ IIIs that we still see celebrities rocking to this day; will the black edition have a similarly long shelf life? Their fate has yet to be determined aside from the fact you can pretty well count on them selling out soon after arriving at retail, so click through to see more angles and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via Taobao

The first Air Jordan III ‘Flip’ got its name from switching the distribution of tumbled leather and Elephant print, but what happens when you go meta and change the script again? The ’Black Flip’ Air Jordan 3 doesn’t reverse its black sections to everywhere else on the shoe, but rather opts for a tonally dark take on the 2007 design that remains to this day one of the boldest Air Jordan Legacy releases. Will these be able to contend with the OG ‘Black Cement’ for most sought-after colorway for the remainder of 2011? Let us know what you think and check out some new photos by clicking on the jump below. via Osneaker

They say ‘What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’. Well, NYC-native hip-hop star Fabolous’ actions during his weekend stay at Sin City definitely did not stay within the city limits, as we get a look at Fabolous and the yet-to-release Air Jordan III ‘Black Flip’ – a ‘reverse’ version of 2007′s Air Jordan III Flip. He performed live alongside Jadakiss with a guest appearance by fellow The Lox member Styles P, and apparently his performance had the entire audience (and a certain R&B star’s kid brother) floored – out cold from a nice one-two combo of his most popular songs. Check out Fabolous sting like a bee with his new kicks below and let us know what you think!

Purists may flip their wigs at this one, but with Jordan Brand bringing out almost every OG colorway of the Air Jordan III this year, surely we’re due for a brand new edition. The version shown above goes heavy on the elephant print, borrowing from the Flips of a few years back and letting them fade to black a considerable amount. This marks the second time this year we’ve seen the classic elephant print done in black, the other being on the highly anticipated Entourage SB’s. As usual the team at RMK has these Air Jordan III’s ahead of the release date, so grab a pair there if you like how they look after the jump.

Yeah we know, there’s that other pair of black Air Jordan III’s coming out in a couple of months, but don’t let that distract you too much from the recently revealed Air Jordan III ‘Black Flip‘. This blacked out version of the Air Jordan III ‘Flip’ from 2007 is looking better and better each time we see it, with the hefty dose of elephant print on the upper working well in that sleek tone of midnight. Is this one up there with the OG colorways of the Air Jordan III that Jordan Brand let go this year? Decide for yourself after the jump, where we have a full set of images. And if you can’t any longer, Kicks Lab has pairs on deck right now.

In the twenty-three years since its 1988 debut, the Air Jordan III has risen to the top of the sneakerhead pantheon, this first of Tinker Hatfield’s Air Jordan Legacy designs widely considered to be one of, if not the single greatest sneaker of all time. 2011′s been a huge year for Air Jordan III Retros, and not only did we see the release of three of the four OG colorways, but also a series of brand new looks, including the just dropped ‘Stealth’ edition. The newly unveiled colorup above is darker than the Stealths, a blacked-out take on the 2007 ‘Flip’ that reverses the typical elephant print and tumbled leather blocking. So is an all-black Flip AJ3 better than the white and Chrome original?
