Something of an antithesis to all the Air Jordan ‘History of Flight’ Promo pairs and the Pantone Samples, these tonal-grey Air Jordan IIIs have a full-on muted tonal grey to emanate neutrality. In fact, if this sample was a full-on tonal elephant like one of the Sneaker News Air Force 1 iD Elephant Prints, it would make the perfect ‘elephant’s foot’ Air Jordan III. We last showed these interesting samples to you in early December, but they surface once again over two months later, allowing us to look back on 2011, the 23rd Anniversary of the Air Jordan III, and wonder if these were intended for a release. In any case, these can still be yours because they just went up for sale from online seller youbetshop on eBay.

After this past weekend’s release of the Air Jordan III ‘Black Flip’, it seems like Jordan Brand has exhausted all of its AJ3 resources for 2011. But the celebration of the 23rd Anniversary of the Air Jordan III doesn’t stop until January 1st, 2012, so here’s some more AJ3 love for ya – an unreleased ‘College Grey’ sample colorway. It’s got a tonal colorway of the light grey tone from the slightest of details (lace eyelets) to the most obvious of features (elephant print has been completely removed). Whether these were intended for a release or were created as a look-see mold of this year’s AJ3 releases isn’t quite clear, but it’s always interesting to see this gorgeous model in a different light. Check out the extra images below and let us know what you think about this funky sample! via air_andy.
