The much anticipated Air Jordan III ’88 retro has a release date of February 6th. The sneakers serve as one of the most unexpected drops in a long time, both because of the long awaited ‘Nike Air’ treatment on the back end and the fact that the Air Jordan III saw a pretty thorough retro run just two years ago. The pair comes as an NBA All-Star tribute, specifically referencing Michael Jordan’s slam dunk championship from that year (the February 6th release date ending on the same day of that moment 25 years ago). Continue reading for the latest photos and remember that the Air Jordan III ’88 ‘White/Cement’ release date is February 6th, and as far as we know Nikestore will be the only place to get them (but we’ll keep you updated should other retailers pop up).
UPDATE: The Air Jordan III Retro ’88 is not exclusive to Nikestore and will be available at other select Jordan Brand retailers.

We were aware that the $200 price-tag on the Air Jordan III Retro ’88 would raise more than a few eyebrows, but we certainly did not anticipate the mass response when we first reported the news last week! Over four-hundred comments poured in to discuss the sudden increase in price for the addition of ‘Nike Air’ on the heel, and until the shoes release at the rumored mid-February/All-Star Weekend timeslot, there’s no doubt that the debate will continue. Check out this new gallery of images below and let us know – is $200 worth the money to recapture Nike Air that was last seen on the White/Cement in 1994?

One of the major developments in the sneaker world this season was the confirmed return of the Air Jordan III with ‘Nike Air’ on the heel. Considering the White/Cements last saw the light of day in this form back in 1994, the reaction to this news was, for the most part, positive. However, this latest bit of information might be a thorn on the side, as the retail price for the Air Jordan III with Nike Air will be set at $200 – a whopping $40 jump from the MSRP of the 2011 Retro version. Well, Air Jordan fans, you got what you asked for. But is it worth the price? Let’s get the conversation rolling in the Comments area below.
