Curren$y’s “Jet Life” mantra has already been done in sneaker form thanks to the sick Nike Blazers done by JBF some time ago, but the popular tag-line is due for a revival thanks to this great pair of Air Jordan III customs done by El Cappy. Using a nice purple/cream white colorway, El Cappy transforms this Air Jordan III by adding a jet logo on the heel with some unique graphics on the elephant print upper, and hits the midsole with two tones of grey. A detailed gallery is just below so check out this nice work below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more updates on custom sneakers done by this budding category in the sneaker game!

The Air Jordan III is making some unexpected noise this Spring 2013 season, isn’t it? A sneaker that just went through a healthy Retro cycle in 2011 was thought to be put to temporary rest, but this Spring 2013 is looking rather exciting thanks to the Nike Air revival and the ‘Joker’ and ‘Crimson’ joints. A confirmed release date for the Air Jordan III ‘Joker’ has been established for February 16th, so let us know if these mid-February releases are a must-have amidst all the heat that is slated to drop that month and peep the new photos courtesy of thehardwood on eBay.

Don’t consider the return of the Air Jordan III ‘White/Cement’ in just two years such a surprise, because it’s clear that Jordan Brand will jump at any available opportunity. Need a reminder? In 2010, we were graced with the Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’ in the ‘For the Love of the Game‘ edition, and just two years later, the Olympic VII hit stores again. This return of the White/Cement III also comes with a slight branding alteration, with Nike Air now donning the heel (as well as the insole and the hang-tag). Are these already the must-have Air Jordan release of the Spring 2013 season, or are your 2011 Retros holding you down?

A lot can happen in ten years. In twenty-five, you cover so much ground, you’ll end up right where you started. The Air Jordan III is proof; a tenured veteran whose legacy is well chronicled, who ten years ago demonstrated that the Jumpman it debuted all the way back in 1988 had surpassed even ‘Nike Air’ when it came to basketball supremacy. A quarter-century after Tinker Hatfield’s first Air Jordan debuted, the Three gets back to the original branding with the ‘White Cement’ colorway dropping in February. We have images comparing the upcoming release to the previous 2003 edition; let us know what you think and stick with Sneaker News for the exact release date.

In the most talked about and perhaps unexpected development in recent memory (really saying something when you consider the bountiful holiday spread we just enjoyed), Jordan Brand grants the request for which so many die-hard fans have been begging. The Air Jordan III ’88 Retro brings back the coveted ‘Nike Air’ heel badge, a feature that’d been replaced by the Jumpman in recent iterations including the 2011 original colorway lineup. The hangtag follows suit for a classic feel as we approach this iconic design’s 25th anniversary with a projected February release date in line with that same birthday for the unforgettable free-throw-line-dunk poster. Have a look at some new images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News to see what else is in store to follow-up on arguably the best year of sneakers ever.

A major story of the past week was the sudden return of Nike Air on the Air Jordan III Retro. The last time the White/Cements featured this amazing detail was during its ’94 Retro run, when Michael was in the middle of his first retirement phase. The Air Jordan III White/Cement returned against in 2003 as well as in 2011 with the Jumpman logo, so this rumored February All-Star release is already considered to be one of the most anticipated Air Jordan releases of 2013 (note the ‘Jordan’ on the outsoles). More shots below, so take a look and let us know what you think.

So last night’s breaking news regarding the upcoming Air Jordan III with Nike Air on the heel caught the attention of the sneaker community rather swiftly, with responses to this exciting turn of events being surprisingly mixed. What we expected to be praise across the board, some of our readers pointed out that the ‘Nike Air’ controversy isn’t really that much of a big deal, while others were completely psyched at a re-release of White/Cements on its own. The release of the ‘Bright Crimson‘ this Spring was a clear hint that maybe Jordan Brand did have something cool in the works, but for those who already have the ’11 White/Cements in their stash, do these have priority? Check out the gallery below and see what the early selling price was from this listing from sneakerlqm2012 on eBay.
