The latest color-swap custom sneaker creation playing on themes from the Air Jordan Legacy combines one of the most popular colorways in recent years with one of the series’ most beloved silhouettes. One of those “can’t believe we haven’t seen this one yet” styles pairing two heavyweight concepts, the Air Jordan III ‘Space Jam’ by EBreez3 follows up on his ‘Eminem’ and ‘Tokyo23 Flip’ Threes with a design that blends the aesthetics of the legendary free throw line dunk contest winner and that surreal ‘Stretch Armstrong’ impersonation in the Bugs Bunny collabo film. A patent leather mudguard and blue accents really does the trick, but one can’t help but wonder how dope a translucent sole like the Doernbecher collabo’s might have been (and what about a Cordura upper?). Melo has been a huge figure in New York sports ever since making his move out to the Big Apple a couple of years ago, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still rock gear that has an association outside of the Empire State. At the recent Dare to Fly Air Jordan XX8 after party for instance, Carmelo Anthony showed up with the Air Jordan III ‘Pit Crew’ on feet, that Oregon flavored 1 of 500 sneaker. Two of the more talked-about Air Jordan Retros that are slated for a 2013 release is the duet of spicy Air Jordan IIIs in ‘Bright Crimson‘ and ‘Joker‘. Although these have been getting a lot of attention, will they steal some of the shine from all the Spring 2013 Air Jordan Retros, like the OG White/Red/Black Air Jordan 1 or Air Jordan V? The Air Jordan III releases in 2011 is what started the entire original box trend that continued with this year’s AJ4 droppings and next year’s Air Jordan V. Little did we know that the actual shoe would make a comeback as well! This February 23rd release has been previewed in detail here on Sneaker News, with the Bright Crimson adding a new flavor of red to the rigid ‘Bulls’ motif that’s been such a powerhouse on the Air Jordan. After a 23rd anniversary year in 2011 that saw the return of three of four original colorways, the Air Jordan III conceded ’12 to its immediate successor. The Three returns next year with at least two new styles, one of which happens to look a little like an OG Air Jordan VII that released earlier this year. And if it hadn’t been for the ‘Raptors’ Sevens, this purple-accented ‘Bright Crimson’ Air Jordan 3 might have earned a Canadian nickname itself for the connection to Toronto’s NBA colors. This bold new style is slated for a late February release, so stick with Sneaker News for updates and check out a new round of photos below in the meantime.

The Air Jordan III ‘Joker’ pictured here is set to join forces with the Air Jordan III ‘Bright Crimson’ as of 2013, the two new colorways carrying the flag as far as never before seen looks on that beloved silhouette. The nickname is still just that, with the ‘Joker’ designation being one that the collective sneaker community has slapped on thanks to the green and purple combo that has reminded many of that Batman villain. Over the last two weeks, we’ve received an influx of updates on this upcoming February 2013 Retro release of the Air Jordan III. If you think you’ve got all the details covered, here are a few more updates that you might not have been aware of; this upcoming Retro release will come accompanied by the OG-inspired hang-tag (which is rather odd considering Bright Crimson is hardly an OG colorway), and extra Bright Crimson laces will be attached as well. The Bright Crimsons have received a fairly positive response from the community thus far, so if you fall in that category, the opportunity to cop a pair way in advance is here from zadehkicks on eBay.
