Sneaker restocks are relatively rare and accordingly, the stuff of which the best stories are made. It’s not all that common that you can get your hands on Air Jordan heat months after you missed the release date, and House of Hoops has you covered just in time for that last-minute back to school push. Three of this year’s Air Jordan Retros will be available when malls around the country open their doors this morning, with a more exclusive list adding a fourth in the ‘Olympic’ Air Jordan VI. With a heavy-hitting Air Jordan Retro release arriving almost every weekend, the Summer 2012 Jordan Retro product roll-out might’ve been too much for some to handle. If your bankroll has recovered from the spending spree and you’d like to get your hands on some of the recent Retro releases, Foot Locker House of Hoops is planning a nice re-stock of the Air Jordan XII ‘Cool Grey’, Air Jordan XII ‘Obsidian’, Air Jordan IV ‘Military’, and even the Air Jordan VI ‘Olympic’ this Friday, August 17th. All HoH locations will carry both Air Jordan XII and the Air Jordan IV, while a select few will stock the Olympic VI, so continue on for a complete list of which stores are getting which shoes and let us know if you’re looking to re-stock your own stash with these four releases.

Air Jordan IV ‘Military’ Quai 54 – Friends and Family

The Air Jordan IV ‘Military’ with the Quai 54 upgrade on the tongue continues to be a bit of a mystery. We know that they were up for grabs out at the 2012 Jordan Brand Quai 54 International Streetball tournament, but whether they were part of a particular contest or just sitting on some hidden retail shelf in Paris is still unclear. Also of note: they initially boasted being just 1 of 24, which clearly isn’t actually the case given this pair put on display by Fat Joe. The sneakers feature the same Quai 54 branding but lack the mention of the super small size run, likely putting them in the friends and family category that we know the likes of Joey Crack is already all too familiar with. Did Mark Wahlberg inject a bit of his own sneakerhead tendencies for the character of Turtle in his beloved show, Entourage? Alright that may be a bit of a stretch but you have to admit, Mark has been displaying some shoe-dude tendencies as of late. You’ve seen him in the LeBrons and Jordans before, this time around going to the latter with the recently released Air Jordan IV ‘Military’ (and even lacing his daughter up with a mini pair of the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Summit Lake Hornets’). Quai 54 Air Jordan IV “Military” – Available on eBay

Jordan Brand broke with a tradition they’d recently established by not issuing a 2012 Quai 54 pack, instead keeping things exclusive with a two dozen-pair run adding the familiar high contrast palette to an established favorite courtesy of a prominent tongue tag replacement. So unlike last year when we saw an Air Jordan V (two actually; the black pair functioning as 2011′s F&F-ish offering) accompanied by Team ISO II, this year’s JB-sponsored Parisian streetball tournament will be remembered by a special edition of the Air Jordan 4 ‘Military Blue’. These are distinct from June’s Military retro thanks to that numbered tag that clashes with the base design but indicates an item of significantly greater value thanks to its scarcity. Air Jordan IV “Military” – Quai 54 Edition

Things did seem a little to Quai-et for comfort there didn’t they? Jordan Brand’s Quai 54 International Streetball Tournament went down last weekend in Paris and there wasn’t a whisper of any accompanying retro release. While not the official Quai 54 edition, we put an end to that to today with a shot of Gentry Humphrey’s footwear for the weekend, which apparently wasn’t the only specialized Air Jordan IV in attendance. Also on hand were these customized Air Jordan IV’s, apparently available at the event for friends and family only. The 1 of 24 pairs feature the standard body of the just retro’d Air Jordan IV ‘Military’ with the traditional tongue tag switched out for a Quai 54 badge referencing their rarity. Air Jordan IV “Military” – Release Reminder

Six years ago this September, Jordan Brand re-released one of the first non-Bulls colorways of the Tinker-era Air Jordan. The Military Blue matched with white and grey created a perfect mix for the Air Jordan IV, paving the way for a slew of other non-Bulls colorways that followed (like the Air Jordan V ‘Grape’, Air Jordan VI ‘Sport Blue’, and so on). A lot has changed in the sneaker game since 2006; prices, quality, and demand have all fluctuated, and it’s especially noticeable for the Air Jordan IV considering it made a steep jump of $45 ($115 in 2006, $160 today). Will these sit on shelves in some areas, like they did back in 2006? Chances are the Military IV won’t see the same fate, so be sure to cop yours this Saturday when they hit Jordan Brand retailers nationwide, or snag ‘em now from jayyzurr on eBay.
