AIR JORDAN IV WHITE/CEMENT The Air Jordan IV White/Cement is an original colorway of the Air Jordan IV that was first released in 1989. The ‘cement’ part of the name refers to the speckled grey sections of the sneaker making up the midsole, lace wings, and back tab. The Air Jordan IV White/Cement has had two retro releases since, one in 1999 and one in 2012.

You’ve gotta figure that Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra could probably get his hands on any Nike LeBron release his heart desires, right? It looks like he might be more of an Air Jordan man though. Spoelstra showed up to the recent conference for LeBron James’ latest MVP Award with blatant disregard for any sort of dress code-shirt tucked into his cargo shorts and the Air Jordan IV “White/Cement” on feet. Continue reading to see more of this oddball sneaker sighting, as well as Spoelstra’s speech at LeBron James’ 2013 MVP awards ceremony and stay tuned to see if he starts showing up the hardwood with this kind of heat.

We’ve already seen plenty of sneaker-inspired iPhone cases done “minimalist” and outsole style, but these latest creations done in collaboration with Uncommon and online sneaker retailer SneakerSt. provide a “window” into something a bit more creative. Using the convenient placement of the Air units of the Air Max 90 and Air Jordan VI, the designers of these cases have arranged the image of the shoes to coincide with the iPhone camera eye for a pretty incredible set-up. There are a couple of others to choose from (basic elephant and cement print) so check them all out below and cop them at SneakerSt.

In previous times this photo would have no doubt been another opportunity for LeBron haters to get their blood pressure up with talks of King James wearing the sneaks of MJ despite having nowhere near as many rings. Yeah he’s still five behind but hey, the 2012 NBA Championship should quiet the chatter a bit right? LeBron was caught celebrating his new hardware in the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ in Las Vegas over the weekend, also stopping by for UFC 148 (and politicking a bit with The Spider himself as you’ll see after the jump). Click through with us for the shots of LeBron James‘ basking in his new Champion status in the fan favorite Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ Retro. Photos: zimbio

Air Jordans have become a popular fashion statement for the sporty and casual, and during a special fundraising event this past Saturday, actress Olivia Wilde proved that anyone can rock Jordans with ease as she wore the White/Cement IV for the EIF Revlon Run/Walk For Women at Central Park. Wilde is also romantically involved with SNL funnyman Jason Sudeikis, who was actually spotted later that night during the SNL taping (with host Eli Manning and musical guest Rihanna) wearing the Air Jordan IV ‘Bred’ during the end of the show. Sudeikis has been spotted before wearing the Air Jordan 1 ‘New Love’, so maybe his affinity for Jordans is carrying over to his girl? Check out Olivia in the White/Cements as well as a few quick stills of Sudeikis in the Bred IVs below! Photos: zimbio

Earlier, we showed you what spicy kicks Gilbert Arenas wore during his second game with the Grizzlies – the Nike Zoom Huarache TR Mid ‘Sony Playstation’, but that certainly was not all the icing on the cake! Big-man DeJuan Blair of the Spurs went H.A.M. this weekend with Jordans, rotating the Space Jams, Cool Grey, and White/Cement IV (wearing the latter two in the same game). Paul George rocked the Electrolime Foamposites again, while Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade debuted the Jordan Fly Wade Flight PO that featured a special message for the slain Trayvon Martin. Still plenty more to see below, so take a look and let us know who wins the crown for the past weekend! via espn

The hysteria surrounding the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ culminated in the ground-breaking release on February 18th, causing nationwide campouts and online retailers to shut down and regroup in order to cater to the mass e-crowds of customers. But for the months leading up to the release, the White/Cements were under some heavy scrutiny – all three-hundred sixty degrees of the shoe were poked at and examined to the point where not much had been neglected. It’s been over a month now since the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ hit stores, but so far, this interesting piece of news has yet to have been reported – a hidden message embedded onto the shoe that while not exactly in clear and present sight, would be easily detectable by anyone who took a minute to give the shoe a thorough examination.
On the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’ the words ‘TWENTYTWELVE’ can be found pressed onto the leather on the lateral side of the tongue, a detail that is hidden under the laces and may have been overlooked for the remainder of the shoe’s existence. While this detail might not have been spotted on all the White/Cements that have made their way into the hands of consumers, we must ask ourselves: What’s the purpose of this little touch? Perhaps a way to differentiate this Retro with its predecessor? While the ’99 and ’12 White/Cements are easily distinguishable, the upcoming Military Blue IV and Bred IV might not be, as both have been re-issued over the last six years. Or maybe Jordan Brand has plans of throwing these cleverly hidden messages/details in future Retros as a way to battle the counterfeit market. In any case, take a trip to your sneaker closet to see if your White/Cements have the TWENTYTWELVE message! Thanks to Damian for the heads up.
